"Honestly, I don’t know how they got 4.5 star rating. The coffee we had this morning was one of the worst I’ve ever had. The waffle wasn’t baked. It seemed like it was marinated in the oil. The only reason I didn’t give 1 star is because the counter lady was nice."

"We came in expecting bar food, to find a small diverse menu. Awesome layout and friendly staff, we had a French waitress who was attentive and friendly. We ordered rare pasture fed steak and it was amazing. Maybe a tad expensive but that is ascot/portside for you. Will definetly go there again for special occasions as the price is quite high. But otherwise way better value than the Italian restaurant across which I would never eat at again."

"The best pizza I ever had. I never leave reviews for anything, but I just had to. It was the BBQ Chicken Pizza, and the garlic Prawns Pasta was also ineffective. So creamy, so moist, drop on my lips.... mmmm fantastic. Cheese"

"Wow what a treat, Izzys Tavern really was something worth waiting for. The first night we tried to dine in the restaurant, it was so full they couldn't take us, but coming back the following day was well worth the wait. At Izzys we had the chicken parmigiana, it was absolutely glorious. The best chicken parmigiana I've had anywhere in regional Victoria ever. Between the lovely delectable juicy tender chicken, the home-made sauce which you could tell was done with great care and the large and generous serving size- Izzy's was a delight to eat at and very good value for money. "The food served on cold plates so that the risotto was cold. The Portobello mushrooms were very small for 28 AUD. Carafe of the house white 65 AUD. Wine and food over price. Modern and beautiful looking restaurant, but the food was overwhelming. The restaurant was really cold and when I asked if they could shut off the air cone, I said it was not and it is winter.... yes it is winter so to close the door or some heating."

"We had an upbeat, attentive waitress. Lovely. Our sweet potato waffle with guacamole and bacon, not as lovely. Time to change the oil in the fryers LK. Could have been a great meal if the waffles were crispy and cooked in clean oil and if...the guacamole wasn’t thin and bland. Fresh, crispy bacon would have been a good touch too. On another note, the coffees were awesome."

"This has to be the worst parma I have ever had. Don't know how a pub can get it so wrong. The chicken was not cooked through, then was microwaved so all soggy with a spoonful of tomato sauce with 4 blobs of hard cheese not been under the grill long enough so still hard and chewy."
