"We arrived in Meissen on Good Friday, which is a bank holiday in Germany meaning that almost all businesses and certainly all grocery stores are closed, as well as many restaurants. We were a bit afraid that we would only find a few lackluster...restaurants open. Imagine our delight in finding this jewel of a restaurant just downstairs from our very comfortable and cute rental apartment! Except for the slow service which was a function of the holiday, I'm sure with only one waitress trying to take orders, serve food, bus tables AND register new guests to the attached hotel/apartments, every single criterion for a superb meal was met. The interior furnishings of the restaurant were beautiful and cosy, the food was finely prepared and seasoned, and the presentation was picture-worthy. This was indisputably the best and most interesting meal we have enjoyed in Germany during this trip. I would highly recommend it to anyone!"

"The Pizza was really good, but we didn't stay for dessert nor will be ever go back there. The sun was out and they offer seating outside. When we walked up we noticed that only one table was set and had cushions on the hard wood chairs. There was no sign on the table that indicated that this table was reserved. Two other restaurants directly next to this place had cushions on all their chairs and table settings on all their tables. We assumed that we were expected to sit at the only table which was set and had cushions on the chairs, which is what we did. The other two restaurants had customers, this Pizzaria none. The waitress comes up to us and asks if we have a reservation. No greeting at all. I thought she wanted to tell us that we wouldn't be served unless we had reserved a table, but as it turned out she meant that the table we sat at was reserved. I explained why we came to sit there and she snapped that she doesn't set tables unless they are reserved and walks away. I suppose we were expected to know this? We stood there for a few seconds before I convinced my husband to stay anyway. We had been walking around all day looking for a restaurant we liked and I just wanted to eat and go to the hotel room. The rest of the evening she was rude, to say the least. Apparently she blacklisted us because of the table incident? She was friendly to other customers that came later. We sat there a while before she came out with four chair cushions. She threw ours on our table while walking by and handed the other two to a couple that had just seated themselves behind us. They got a couple friendly words and were handed the cushions. Unbelieveable. When my husband asked if he could have salt she actual snarled. I don't care what her reason is, but this behaviour is not acceptable and I could kick myself for not moving on. As far as the menue is concerned, it explicitly states that everything from pasta to pizza is entirely home made. The pizza came out really, really fast. Much too fast for having been entirely homemade. It takes longer to knead out the dough. The couple behind us ordered pasta which arrived at their table in less than 15 minutes. I seriously doubt he made those noodles himself, but maybe he is a magician. If you go there remember not to get on her bad side!!"

"Wonderful location, even if it is a bit of a walk uphill. Very nice wine list. Thoroughly enjoyed the Kartoffelsuppe and the Maehgdedeller homemade Saxony style dumplings with sauerkraut and ham. Yum."

"We had the most unfriendly and arrogant blonde service I've ever experienced! I was very appalled about so much insult! (I personally also come from the gastro. You can learn that the satisfaction of the guest and friendliness are always the first! . The lady is welcome to attend a training course on professionalism and kindness. The restaurant and the food may be good, but what is beneficial if you feel unwilling and unwanted ...."

"We were once again in meissen, this time in the stefano, from which we had heard a lot of good. we had reserved a table on the terrace, directly on the buoyant. we were welcomed at the entrance and felt right there. from the extensive menu we chose the front route bruschetta and (very recommended) calf with thun-fish sauce, as the main dish farfalle al salmone and delicate, with an open bardolino. the foods were very well prepared and were very tasty. how to imagine it with the Italian. the service was friendly and attentive. the prices are absolutely ok. Conclusion: short and painless - here we go back, it brings fun and is worth it."
