"Finding somewhere nice to eat has always been a challenge to us, as regular travelers to San Gil, so finding this place was a pleasant surprise. I understand from the waiter that there are two Juan Mar restaurants. I am reviewing the one in the centro commercial San Gil which is just outside town on the main road to Socorro. The restaurant is situated on the fourth floor and is open on the side facing the mountain so you get a great view, cooling breeze and depending where you sit and time of day a lot of sun ! It has a very Caribbean feel with lounge style music that I loved. Makes a change from vallenato ! I had the langostinos encocados which are jumbo shrimp coated in shredded coconut and deep fried. Fantastic !! My partner had a small cazuela of mariscos....a shellfish casserole. Again, very good ! I had a couple of mojitos to wash it down, first was ok but second a bit sweet. Shame because I wanted to give them five stars. I recommend this place to anyone who likes well prepared seafood and is prepared to pay a little more. As an appetizer, they served us complementary patacones with homemade mayonnaise and tomato sauces both of which were excellent. The menu is quite varied and they have pasta dishes for those that don't fancy seafood"

"La verdad lo más desatinado en comida que he probado. pedimos una ensalada cesar que no tenía ni cara de ensalada porque tenía un poco de pollo desmechado tómate lechuga vieja cortada con un cuchillo y una salsa parecida a tártara que unido a la migas de pan le quitaban el nombre de cesar. La otra mala experiencia era un salmón en champaña y mariscos recocido y sin sabor a la frescura requerida. Y por último unas raviolis carbonara que era en crema de leche con algo de tocineta que parecía más un engrudo de pasta Al tratar de entender el porque estaban los platos con esta preparación la respuesta más absurda que así era que le gustaba a la gente de este pueblo que insulto tan grande"

"This place was beautiful. My family and I spend time for lunch at this restaurant. The waitress were so kind and helpful. The place is so calmed and relaxing at the same time. The menu at the restaurant is very mixed for everyone. The presentation of the plates are incredible nice. The presentation of the tables are clean and very organized. Its such a nice place for food. I really recommend this restaurant I will surely go back."
