"We stopped in for a quick dinner since it was advertised as all day buffet. Pizza was luke warm, macaroni and cheese was the WORST I have ever eaten. I took one bite and could not eat any more of it. Disgusting. Try someplace else. Anywhere else…."

"The Gumbo Pot Laissez les bons temps rouler in Vicksburg The perfect place to eat authentic Cajun and Kreol food without going 150 miles to New Orleans. On July 1, 2018, I saw the Gumbo Pot on Google Maps as a good place to eat. A friend and I drove the 35 miles to Vicksburg to try this hidden gem. After entering the facility, you would think you were in a restaurant on Bourbon Street in the French neighborhoods. I ordered the fried pickles, seafood gumbo, and the great Pontchartrain (catfish, oysters and shrimps) and mustard green. OMG the food was sooooo good. I never had Kreol/Call food so good and not in New Orleans. Mrs. NeeNee was so friendly and attentive. She made us welcome and always saw if we need something else. My friend had the red beans, rice and potato salad. We both had the taste of food marveled. After dinner, Ms. NeeNe offered us bread pudding, but I told her I didn't eat bread pudding. She said to try it because her bread pudding was different from other places. I tried and LOVED LOVED LOVED. I give this restaurant 10 stars. The food was so good, I went back today, July 7, 2018. I had again the gumbo and then the fried catfish with crustfish étouffée over rice and one side mustard green. Once again, the food was so tasteful and reminded me of the food in one of my favorite restaurants in the French neighborhoods. I would advise everyone to go to Gumbo Pot in Vicksburg, MS for real Creole / Cajun food. The owner is of Marrero, Louisiana (West Bank) and he can definitely cook. Prices are reasonable and the sizes are more than enough. I would recommend this restaurant to all who visit Vicksburg, MS. I'm a Gumbo Pot tribal. I'll go back as much as I can. If you are in the Vicksburg area or want New Orleans taste, please visit the Gumbo Pot, you will not be disappointed."

"The service is just painfully slow. The wait staff walked by us at least a dozen times without noticing empty glasses. Another table had to walk up to the bar to request a bill and a third couple sat for a good 15 to 20 minutes without a drink. There were only 5 tables with diners. One would think they could have handled that with 4 staff working front of the house."

"Very good pizza sandwiches. I ordered the small pizza with three toppings loved it especially the crust. My mom had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and consumed the entire large sandwich. Service was good with a well timed team work among the staff. The dining room felt clean and tidy. The decor is very simple yet appropriate. There is a separate private room sectioned off with a sliding bard door. Located in the deep corner of an older shopping center that is 50% full of retailers perhaps going through another lifecycle. This is not a drive by location but a destination space known to the locals folks discovering it via web searches. BTW it's sits next door to an ice cream and candy store!"
