"Uncle Bud's...What can I say? If you like a country-style, catfish and chicken place, then this is it.The staff are the courteous, humble people you would expect and the fried fish and chicken is the comfort food you would expect. The sides are divine and you get to drink your beverages out of a large mason jar.It is, most excellent.The wait can be long on certain nights and times of the week, but it's worth it.Their food is so good, it retains the flavor and quality after it's been sitting for extended periods of time.Let me explain.On multiple occasions, I have had a carry-out tray awaiting me when I got home from work. We're talking sitting at room temperature for at LEAST a few hours. Even not reheated, it tasted great.The fish, the chicken, the slaw, the beans...all still fantastic.Not much food in general can stake a claim like that.All you can eat nights (chicken pieces/tenders or catfish) are Thursdays and Sundays, if I remember correctly. You can even make reservations through yelp.And no matter the party size, they're always accommodating.If you're in the Nashville area, it's worth the trip.Bring your appetite."

"I got 2 plates yesterday and was NOT impressed! The meatloaf had a strange taste? First of all, it tasted like straight up green pepper. Then it had an herb or seasoning in it that was way too strong! The green beans also had a strange taste and I couldn?t eat them. The Mac n cheese was good! But at $15 a plate, I better have more the Mac that?s edible! My friend said her chicken was okay but the two sides were disgusting? I eat soul food at least three times a week and not only was it the most expensive I?ve eaten, but also the worst!"

"My favorite buffet in nashville! Every time I come up here I make it a point to come to Hermitage House! In business since the mid 70s and a staple around this area. The senior owners both work here and live across the street in a historic home. If you're in the area stop in for the best fried chicken and my very favorite... FRIED FISH! Nice clean restaurant with plenty of room for groups."

"We have been twice in the last 2 weeks ... which describes how much we love Metro 8. The porcini mushroom noodles are my favorite along with steak and tuna. The vegetables are always so fresh and cooked perfectly. The salads are crispy and properly dressed and the wine list is huge and delicious. Perfect for dates, girls' nights or special occasions. Correctly priced for the top quality food you get. Better steaks than Angus Barn, better pasta than Maggianos and much cheaper. The terrace is our favorite dining space, but the tables inside are super romantic. We will no doubt be back soon. Great service, fantastic atmosphere, top bar and wine list and food in the region to celebrate small business ... all my favorite things! Parking is so much easier than downtown Durham and we love the taste of 9th Street. The desserts are fantastic and the coffee is delicious."
