"We dined here with a Groupon voucher; a 5-course meal comprising of 3 degustation-size courses, a main and dessert. The good: the kitchen coped admirably well with a vegetarian; the lentils signature dish (a main) was fantastic and the mushroom soup very good and a generous portion. The scallops (another main) were beautiful and the dessert (cheesecake) decadent and yummy. The bad: I found the Moreton Bay bug course minuscule and tasteless, the roasted beetroot course was pleasant to look at but offered little in the way of taste. Our booking got lost somehow (despite receiving a confirmation both by email and SMS) but luckily they did manage to fit us in. Service was hectic (waiters excel at rushing around empty handed while avoiding eye contact) and the wait too long between courses. Overall we did enjoy our meal and at $84 ($79 for the Groupon voucher plus $5 supplement for the scallops) it was well priced (a bottle of OK wine included in the deal). Without a voucher prices seem too high for what you get."

"Bought a reasonably priced prawn salad which was nice. Had lots of chilli in which I’d asked to have a small amount, lots of coriander and actually a fair few prawns which was a pleasant surprise. All in all for $11 it was a fair...price and a pretty good salad. As for authentic- not so much but nice all the same."

"The lighting was terrible. We were seated at a table where the lights were either too dim or not working. The service was average. You had to constantly look for someone to take your order or ask for water. The wait staff seemed to favour certain tables as there seemed to be 3-4 of them hanging around a particular table. It was very loud inside. Food was average and nothing special. Could get higher standard or food and service at a cheaper price in Western Sydney."

"Salads for the instagram generation. This place came recommended, so it hurts to say this, but I have to be honest - the value just isn't there. It didn't help to be told when we arrived that they were out of the asparagus salad, the braised lamb and the ham. That might not sound like much, but when your choices are limited to four salads, four proteins and about six sides, you've lost 20% of your menu. We had the salmon gravlax with a wild rice and green bean salad (22), the mushroom salad (8) with a side of pumpkin (7) and a rare beef toastie (15.50). The wild rice salad didn't really taste of much to be honest, and the beetroot-cured salmon gravlax didn't exactly wow me with flavour either. My brother found the rare beef toastie a bit too heavy on the vinegar. I'm starting to think that if you want a good lunch in the CBD, avoid huge beautiful spaces where the rent and the ceilings are sky high, and stick to small holes in the wall who can pump out good food at good value. The salads are decent here, but just roasting some veg and putting it on expensive ceramic crockery shouldn't mean you can charge prices that would leave your grandpa short of breath and reaching for the aspirin. And gramps doesn't have instagram either."

"With a spectacular view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, Aria is one of Sydney's foremost fine-dining restaurant. The posh and cozy dining room is a mixture of art and modernity with artworks from indigenous artists hanging on soft-leather walls, luxurious bronzes and woods, as well as graceful padded chairs. <br> <br> The degustation course for autumn 2017 features a series of acceptable but unremarkable dishes. The dishes were meticulously prepared but lacked a distinct narrative or identity to make it memorable. <br> <br> The starters were intriguing. Have you tried a goats curt ice cream as a starter for dining? The ice cream was accompanied by the mildly sweet heirloom beetroot, walnuts and plums but I saw these exotic ingredients as distinct and separate rather than being infused together with the ice cream. The cured kingfish, dressed with lime and bai choy, however, whetted my appetite with its savory explosion. <br> <br> The mains were similarly pretty satisfactory but... <a class="read-more" href="#">read more</a>"
