"Thought I’d give this place a second chance after a poor takeout years ago. Ordered a simple fried rice dish with curry and prawn crackers. The rice dish was very salty and mushy and the prawn crackers were stale and greasy (even my boys wouldn’t eat them and they normally fight over prawn crackers). Never again. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £1–10"

"A beautiful part of the world, perfect for a sunday afternoon walk around the grounds, or if your feeling a little more adventurous, you can walk up the cobbled hill to the Rivington Foley 's where you can wander around a network of replica bridges and buildings originally built around 1900 by the original owner Mr Lever as a sort of 'italian model village ' for his wife."

"Excellent service, decent portions (we both struggled to finish, and we can eat! Staff both friendly and attentive, weren 't waiting long for food. Had the obligatory any fish? Question, so both were cooked to order. Would strongly recommend this chippy to anyone who visits the area."

"Recently, when I have collected my fish chips I have found the chips to be dry and crispy as always, but the fish, though obviously fresh and of good quality, to be disappointingly swimming no pun intended in grease and therefore very unappetising. I believe that when taken from the fryer, the fish are not rested in the warming drawer long enough to drain them of fat. I am only writing this review not to impinge on the excellent reputation of Skippers but in the hope that a minor change in procedure might restore the food to its original high quality. I have also noticed that when the food was below standard the owner was not present."

"I went for a walk in Duxbury woods with our dog and called here for a drink. Had the cake and coffee offer for £4 and it was very good. Nice piece of carrot cake and a good latte sat outside on the terrace. Very clean place and nice in the sun"

"Amazing eating, excellent service and great view. eating was nice and hot served. great aromas and tastes would make this place very resurrected. the pet is also friendly. the local dinners were also friendly and chatting. nice local. beautiful atmosphere. a bit expensive (extra) but worth the money. hopefully this helps. thanks. basic. appropriate. extra. inflated."
