"Friends and I used to go to Ouisi almost weekly, but not the last two years. Recently, we decided to revisit this South Granville gem, and it is still delightful. A bit scruffy, a bit dark and a bit seedy. But that is the atmosphere...the bistro wants to maintain. Food still good."

"Amazing experience! The food was soo delicious and super filling ! My family got the Elvis Platter which feeds about 4-6 people but there was so many left overs so it could feed about 7-8 people. The Meat is all cooked soo well and the BBQ sauce was a huge hit! The corn bread was yummy. The service was great and our server was really welcoming and nice. Will eat here again when we come to Vancouver."

"We found the place by chance...The decor is colourful and wicked sculptures...nice feeling about it. Our family had antipasto : seafood, aubergine Mediterranean, bolognesa... We enjoyed our meals.Very tasty, good value for money and the salad portion was very generous which I like.The ice tea also was delicious not too sweet."

"We've been on the mailing list for almost a year before we saw a secret dinner club, we thought we could try the local truffle dinner. We enjoyed 6 courses from Wildebeest/West/Hawksworth Chef Jacob. We really enjoyed every course and private room (for 5), this is a bedroom in Chef Robin's (the founder of Swallowtail) house. The events take place in a private house and with the numbers this evening (50 plus) I am surprised that it does not violate any Vancouver City Bylaws. This is also where the good times ended. The time between each course was about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes meant a dinner that should last between 630p 9p, ended up 1130p or so. We asked for the check and rushed out as soon as we finished our dessert and many people had not even received it. Eating was hardly warm. Serving staff are friendly and good, but I still think Swallowtail Supper Clubs must be fewer people (maybe 40) and more contemporary. Of course, this could affect the business model as our BC Truffle Dinner menu was about $120 including tips. One advantage is BYOB, which is great because you can control the quality of the Vino. BUT, you will not get a menu in advance or at the table so you do not know how to pair your whites/reds/dessert wines that are also unpleasant if you have long time gaps between the courses (older wines can pour into the glass in 15 minutes. In any case, Swallowtail can be a good opportunity to meet you some new people and most dinners are vegan/vegetarian that can be hard to find in restaurants. I sent Chef Robin through the time delays by e-mail, but she still hasn't responded to me. I hope that with some tweets she can help Swallowtail to be a better experience. We're not sure we're back.
