"This place is a Toronto gem. If you love live music your time in Toronto won't be complete without a visit to Hugh's Room. They have a great new menu and the wait staff are always friendly. Reservations are easy to make on line. The line up of performers is sterling. Even if you don't recognize who is playing on any given night you can be sure they will be world class."

"We were told that this place was really good. Well not even close. As for the server that we had, the only nice thing I can say is, Wait there is nothing nice to say about her. We arrived and told her it was for 4. She retorted that if we didn't have a reservation that we wouldn't get a table. I said well it was my son that made it, I think. But no, no reservation. I asked what about all those empty tables? She retorted well thats for people that have reserved as its jazz night, (we didn't know). Thankfully perhaps it was the manager came up a said yes we have room. We were sat a table and waited to be served, as obviously she didn't want anymore tables.The food.... pasta was hard and the sauce was like ragu out of a bottle.... The stuffed chicken was the most bland I ever had... the only saving dish was the ribs, they were good, (I should have ordered that)... The beer was a mediocre micro brew, not that good.The price.... expensive for the atmosphere and food.Would I go back? NEVER, in a life time.You should find a different place that actually wants your business, with a chef that can cook.Cheers"
