"First off, my girlfriend and her co-workers regularly visit this joint, its a favorite among the office. While I have yet to try this illustrious Prosciutto sandwich (lunch menu), heard it is amazing from the masses. My girlfriend and I came here last night for dinner and it was my first time. Definitely would come back here. The small restaurant boasts an awesome vibe and the service is top notch. Patrick, who was our server, absolutely killed it! He was friendly, great to chat with and offered many opinions as to what crowd favorites are (since my girlfriend only goes for lunch). Food wise, I have to give tons of credit to the kitchen. We had the fried calamari, probably the best I've had - Pan seared in oil with Panko. I had the Penne Rose and my girlfriend had the House-Made Sicilian Gnocchi. Both were spectacular! Overall, love this little Italian restaurant, it's a gem and would recommend it to anyone. If you're looking to go for dinner, you may want to make a quick reso - we luckily showed up and walked in no problem, but the restaurant was comfortably filled and we snagged the last seat.Great job Patrick and the Kitchen! "Was with a group of four, two of which had been here before and had raved about the food. We arrived for our 6pm reservation, which didn't seem to matter since we were seated without anyone asking our name or confirming our reservation in a book or computer.Our waiter Tony gave us menus, but not so much as a "hi, how are you doing tonight". I only know his name because it was printed on the receipt at the end of the meal. He then brought us water which was warm. I don't just mean room temperature, but warm! None of us could drink it. I looked for our waiter to no avail. I did ask a waiter from another table for some ice, explaining the problem. He brought some ice for me, but too bad for my three friends -- lol. I added the ice to the water, which promptly melted.I ordered a Caprese salad (one of my all-time favourite salads) and the stuffed chicken. Waiter returned to say they have no ingredients for the Caprese. Really? At 6pm on a Saturday? Bizarre. I ended up changing my entire order to their Saturday night steak special, the same as two of my friends. They each asked for medium-well, and I asked for medium-rare -- which really didn't matter at all, because all three came well done. Waiter wasn't remotely interested in the fact that they were over done. We had theatre tickets and wouldn't have been able to wait for new steaks to be prepared, so we didn't request this, and just ate what we were served -- which turned out to be tough and chewy (surprise, surprise). No follow-up to the table asking if we were enjoying things. No follow up to the meal asking about coffee and dessert. Other strange thing -- it was 30c outside and the heaters were on! I accidentally leaned by bare leg against one and burned it. I told the waiter who, instead of apologizing, just walked away (although he did come back with one of the chefs who turned it off).On the way out, we had to pass Tony who just stood there staring at us. No "have a nice evening" or "thanks for coming". He's got to be one the most lacking-in-personality waiters I've ever come across."

"It was really unexpected with three restaurants which I had in mind that I went to had an hour plus of wait time for a table. As I walked along Eglinton, I stumble upon Balsamico. I never know why I didn't notice this quaint, awesome restaurant before. Maybe because it was right next to Little Sisters and I assumed it was all one restaurant. But my friend pointed out and we thought since we haven't tried this place, I'd give it a go. And the stars aligned, with just very minimal wait time. It was after all dinnertime that I was there. Linda the hostess was amazing! If you don't know what to order or is plagued with indecisiveness, she the one that you should look for. She asks the right questions and reviews the right choice which you've already chosen, before making the recommendation. And then tells you the justification. Just awesome for a want it all person like me!! The atmosphere was comfortable and efficient as there is a smaller table and they cleaned it out right away, before the next dish comes arrives on your table almost like an orchestrated symphony. If you are craving for Italian, check out this place. It gets my vote for good food, good service, great recommendations and ambience."
