"This chicken shop is reborn on a regular basis as far as I can make out, and is now branded as Peri Peri Original, which is a franchise. There have been some bad previous reviews (perhaps to do with previous incarnations, but on the day I went, I had a very good experience. I ordered the full hot Peri Peri chicken to take away and as they had run out of peri chips, I had to make do with ordinary ones. The food was extremely tasty and appeared to have been freshly cooked. The staff were courteous and it was a bargain. I would be very hesitant to eat-in there if I were over 18y of age, but I will definitely use it again as a take away. Fried chicken is now a bit if a national institution as cheap filling takeaway food. Whilst I would have concerns about this being the staple convenience food of the younger generation, it definitely has its place. A sort of downmarket Nando's."

"Went here with friends to eat in. The service was really good and food was fresh and tasty. The chicken breast, wings and mini fillets were all meaty and good quality, and with the peri peri sauce tasted better than Nandos. The rice was very fluffy and chips hot and crispy. The southern fried chicken wings were also tasty, better than KFC's and more meaty, the coating was very good. The owner gets his meat fresh from Birmingham regularly, and buys quality chicken. The chicken fillet burgers are home made. I had one of these also and it was much bigger and tastier than KFC's fillet burger, using a half pound chicken breast. They also do a nacho burger which is huge, and uses butterflies chicken breast. I would recommend the food, and would visit again."
