"Always looking for a restaurant with good homemade pasta, Pastorante did not disappoint. I had the special of the day which was a fusilli (rotini) with shrimp, asparagus, and sun dried tomatoes. IMO the pasta was a bit overcooked but it held its shape. The shrimp and asparagus, however, were perfectly cooked. I'm not a fan of sun dried tomatoes but those were easy to eat around (I didn't know they were in the dish) and the lemon creme sauce was light and flavorful. I also had the stuffed mushrooms with pancetta and mozzarella. They were okay. The mushrooms were flavorful but I couldn't taste the pancetta and there was too much mozzarella which was overwhelming. The absolute best part of the meal was the espresso creme brulee. It was AMAZING! I highly recommend it! With the perfect amount of coffee flavor, this was the perfect treat to end the meal. Stuffed mushrooms, side Cesar salad, pasta dish, and creme brulee $36. Good value for the amount of food."

"Felt very much like I was back in Italy! BYOB cozy family owned restaurant. Service was excellent, food prepared perfectly to order and quickly. Delicious lobster ravioli appetizer with amazing sauce. Ordered the ribeye and shrimp special. Steak was cooked just right! The chicken florence with pasta in a lemon sauce was so fresh. Beautiful view of the capital building. Will definitely come back as we were too full to try desserts and recommend to anyone in the area."

"I wanted to be able to say something negative about this place being the devout meat eater that I am. I can't. The food was uniformly fantastic. If you are vegetarian or vegan or just want something slightly different, this place is well worth checking out. The beer was delicious and the entertainment was first rate."

"PROS: Fairly nice atmosphere as long as you like dark spaces. CONS: Almost everyone at my table had something wrong with their dish. The odd combos, undercooked or overcooked food at this price isn't worth it. One dish had to be sent back and remade entirely and they acted as if we had done something wrong. The problem seems to be the kitchen and management here. Server was fine although many appear to be a bit young and inexperienced for a restaurant of this type. Lastly, if you are a vegetarian, the selections are a bit wanting. The salads are a boring, dressings are few, and entrees sound great but when you taste them you're let down."
