"San Vito is the birthplace of some friends of mine. It took us a half hour to get there through some extremely winding roads. But it's all worth it for an evening at Osteria Matre. The place is laid out nicely out with tables not on top of each other. The decor is modern rustic and very welcoming. The food: meat croquettes, an amazing fusilli (tastes homemade) with the best pesto I have ever tasted! A great salad with almost too much shaved pecorrara Romano cheese but welcomed, just the same. Argentine beef that was delicious but I made the mistake of ordering it cooked medium which was a little too raw for me. It was still flavorful. I forgot to mention that the eight of us shared pizza which again was very good. We had a few bottles of red wine, Librado Ciro Rosso: native to Calabria. Make the trip: find San Vito and Osteria Matre!"
