"A decent spot to hang out with friends and family. I have ordered their chicken and beef biriyani , which was served on plantain leaves along with coconut chutney, pickles and salad. Taste wise, the biriyani was good. Ambience is good and service is ok. Overall a decent spot to hand out with friends and family."

"Mutton Biriyani...Don’t even bother with the menu..The best biriyani in Kochi and joint best along with Hotel Rahmath Calicut in Kerala in my opinion..Ambience is normal, not luxury or posh and the place is always full...But all Biriyani lovers must visit..Its an absolute delight.."

"The Grand Hotel Restaurant does not disappoint and IS THE definitive place to visit for authentic Kerala cuisine. and I confidently say that you can 't go wrong eating here.<br/ <br/ I had written a review three and a half years ago on another forum called 'Consistently Great Eating ' and I 'm thrilled to say, 'I told you so '!!!!<br/ <br/ Nothing has changed. The restaurant is still busy as ever and the food is still delicious and wholesome. <br/ <br/ If you want to sample the local cuisine, you can 't go wrong ordering the fish curry meals which will give you 4 5 vegetable dishes, a fish curry, pappadom, assorted pickles and unlimited rice. The vegetable dishes will also be refilled if you so require at no extra cost.<br/ <br/ Another must try dish is the 'Karimeen Pollichathu ' which is a local fish (Pearl Spot) sauteed in local spices and masala, and then baked in a banana leaf. Fabulous.<br/ <br/ The restaurant also serves varieties of biriyani cooked and served in clay pots (Dum Biriyani) and is easily the best available in the city.<br/ <br/ Their menu is extravagant and they serve chicken, fish, lamb, beef, lobster and duck to name a few. Every week they have a speciality going could be Duck, lobster or tiger prawns so do ask.<br/ <br/ The only drawback I can point out is that the service level tends to vary from average to very good depending on the crowd, and it does tend to get very very busy.<br/ <br/ Do your palate a favor and eat here!!!"
