"While visiting Central City and Black Hawk yesterday I took a late lunch break on such a beautiful day. I was in Ameristar Casino when I found Fireside Kitchen on the upper level. The young man who seated me was friendly and polite. It didn't take long for me to get seated. Fortunately, the restaurant wasn't that busy when I visited. I love the fireplace near the front entrance of the restaurant. It's very appealing as you're standing in the doorway and after entering. I was seated in a booth which is always a preference of mine. My waitress was professional and friendly. I like that she wasn't overly friendly or too personable. She took my drink order and was ready to go for my main entree order. I ordered the Fish Chips. It comes with standard French Fries and not traditional chips. That's okay though! I LOVED the dipping sauce (Cajun remoulade) that comes with the meal. It was so good that I ordered another side of it! The fish was great! It wasn't under or over cooked. I was also impressed with the quality of fish. It didn't taste like frozen or processed fish. My only feedback for this meal would be to serve the tartar sauce in a small cup like the Cajun remoulade and not packets of it. This also makes for a better presentation. I would definitely dine here again for lunch or dinner. I will be sure to keep this in my mind when I'm visiting Black Hawk again. I recommend Fireside Kitchen for a quality bite to eat with family or friends. Enjoy!"
