"New juice bar caught my attention with their outside seating just off of rue montorgeuil in the 2nd. Their juices are soooo good!! My favorite from the summer was pineapple, watermelon, apple, chia seeds, and jasmine (which made it so special). They also have really good (and BIG) sandwiches. It's my new favorite spot for a healthy and yummy lunch or a quick juice. They also have really nice homemade desserts and a vegan/vegetarian options. Definitely need to try all of the options"

"We could tell we were in for great pizza when we walked across the street from our hotel to a pizzeria filled with people, mostly locals. One previous reviewer talked about the different types of flour available to make the pizza dough and we were excited to try some. Apparently you have to call ahead and make a request for this special dough according to our waitress. The menu is all in french but wasn't too hard to figure out and our waitress spoke some English. I like that they use really fresh ingredients. The pizza is large enough for 2 people if not too hungry. The prices are mid-range."

"Being complete amateurs to many African foods, we had no idea what to expect at our initiation to Eritrean cuisine, and were pretty excited to dine at Asmara.The food was truly interesting, some were vaguely reminiscent of other cuisines. My partner ordered the cabbage and meat pastry for entree, which was not unlike Indian samosa, while I went with an avocado salad. He also ordered a mango yogurt drink which was very much like an Indian lassi.Our main course was the tasting platter. It was the first time in our lives we tried injera, the flatbread made from teff flour. We found it really fun using our hands to peel the bread and scoop the dips, which were mysterious but quite tasty.For dessert, we chose a pineapple cake and the battered fried banana, which was like an Indonesian/Malaysian pisang goreng.The only issues were that we felt the portions were rather small, and we had to ask and pay for a top-up of salad. The waiting time for the food was also quite long, but I guess it was worth the wait for the food (just something to note if you're really hungry, or don't like waiting for your meals).Otherwise, we think it's definitely worth a visit to discover Eritrean cuisine."

"Madame and I had a fine and restorative dinner at Le Canton on a recent Saturday evening. She had been in Paris on her own for a few days while I went off to Tbilisi to do some lecturing, and I had just gotten back...that afternoon. By the time dinner rolled around I'd been awake (barely, at times) since Oh-Dark-Hundred and we wanted to keep matters simple. Le Canton really filled the bill. It is a small place the room we were in, which I believe is the only dining space, holds maybe twenty guests at a time, give or take. The place is very quiet, service was quick and friendly, and the cooking was superb. Nems and shrimp shou mai to begin were followed by orange chicken for Madame, and orange duck for me; the flavors were subtle and complex, the servings were just the right size (despite my boyish, youthful appearance I have the appetite and the aches and pains of a senior citizen), and a nice dry rose by the carafe topped off the proceedings perfectly. The bill was another really good surprise, aided by the downright reasonable price (E8 for that essential carafe of wine. We went early seems to me we sat down at 6:30 or so and the place filled up rapidly, so reservations might be advisable. When and if we're lucky enough to be back in Paris, Le Canton will likely be our first stop (and probably again later on in the visit, once the jet-lag fog lifts.. .. Le Canton is strongly recommended."
