"Due to the fact this restaurant has a limited number of tables and we couldn't get a reservation during high season, we were excited about our dinner to entertain out of town guests. The excitement unfortunately was short lived. Although the sangria and Moscow mule were delicious, the food left quite a bit to be desired. They offered a presentation buffet of assorted tapas. Most if not all the tapas were bread based and with 90% humidity here in Puerto Vallarta, you don't have to be a genius to know bread is going to get stale almost immediately. Stale bread, no mater what they are topped with doesn't make for a good meal. We then ordered salad, calamari and gazpacho. Although the salad was fresh, the dressing needed additional seasoning. The calamari was tough and seemed to be undercooked and the soup was only adequate. Needles to say, we finished our cocktails, paid our bill and walked to Archies Wok for dinner.Since we are locals, we hope this was just an off evening and look forward to our next visit to try this well respected restaurant yet again."

"Went to Maia recently for the first time and it was outstanding. Duck tacos for appetizer and red snapper for entree. The atmosphere is cute and facilities clean. The staff was attentive and balanced our table's leg when she noticed (we didn't even have to mention it to her). There are a few restaurants I hit up every time I'm in PV and Maia has now become one of them."

"This was our adapted beach bar of choice on a recent trip. Hardest working staff on Los Muertos, notably even the owner, Romi. Reasonable prices (in my view); great daiquiris and Pina' Coladas. Huge and tasty burgers. But, the best meal on the beach: La Carreta avocado stuffed with shrimp. Had one every day-miss them already! Jose' was a great waiter and made us feel like, well; "Mi casa es su casa". See you next year amigos! Mil gracias!"

"We discovered La Chata on our way to the Choco Museo. We had time for breakfast and chose the wonderful fruit plate with yogurt and granola. They serve cinnamon coffee which is a rare find. We returned this last Sunday for dessert as we had...been to see a musical group that included lunch. Again we were so impressed with food, service and atmosphere. Enjoyed flan and horchata.. so authentic and a rare find on menus. We plan to have a full meal when we return next year. A beautiful view of the waterfront overlooking the Malecon from the 2nd floor"

"We had a great lunch here with excellent service. When we arrived it looked like they were not quite open but they took us in anyways. Tacos were perfect and they fed us quickly. Our server was great and made our meal very enjoyable. Ordered takeout the next night. 3 tacos each for 8 people $30 USD."

"My husband and I were lucky to be staying right up the hill from this amazing find. We ate there each night for 4 nights. You can't beat their al pastor tacos - the seasoning was just right, the fresh pineapple and corn tortillas delicious, and the minced onion and cilantro added a touch of brightness - no salsa needed. 4 tacos were about US$3.50 total. They seem to be open for dinner from 7pm onwards only.This tacqueria appears to be featured as part of a local food tour that highlights some of the best foods in the city. Go find out why it made their list."
