"The Barrel Top Grill is located at Little Straw Winery in West Kelowna and overlooks Okanagan Lake. We were there on a very pleasant May day and sat outside in the patio portion of the restaurant where the chef was busily slow-cooking two slabs of pork belly on a round barbecue grill fueled by wood he said were from old Pinot Noir vines that had been replaced by the winery. The aroma emanating from the grill was delicious and as luck would have it, we decided to choose a Chef's Choice cheese and charcuterie plate and because the menu said the chef might include anything in his selection, he started the selection with samples of his slowly-cooking pork belly. They were absolutely delicious, as were the splendid variety of offerings he followed the samplers up with. Along with a glass each of Little Straw Pinot Gris, we were so delighted with our food and drink, we were almost content to just stay at the winery for the afternoon!"

"Sunset Organic Bistro came highly recommended by our Airbnb Host. We ordered Clams and Mussels which was fresh and cooked to perfection with an earthy tone broth, next was Beet's Salad with all ingredients which felt like they we're just hand picked and nice vinaigrette and finally complimented with Pork Belly Korean BBQ, shredded cabbage, fried egg, Go Chu Jang. It's funny I'm from Australia and growing up there we are very spoilt by our carnivorous selections, Pork Belly is usually served in inch squared cuts with marinated flesh and crispy crackled skin, what we were served is commonly consumed as pork rib chops. I love Pork and can't get enough of this and perform the dishes at home, Pork Belly takes 24-48 hrs to prep for perfect crackle and marinated flesh and only 60 minutes to bake. Pork rib chops, marinated 2 hrs and grilled, BBQ, or pan fry 15 minutes tops. Well disappointed about the pork chops, but did love the Korean Charred BBQ marinate, fried egg and Go Chu Jang sauce. Ambiance was flawless, Sunset awesome, views of Okanagan Lake/Kelowna City breathtaking, staff impeccable and friendly with great knowledge of pairing wines with meals (which I don't). All in all great dining and ambiance, up."
