"We had recently a terrible experience in this restaurant. we had finished lunch and had consumed only a moderate amount of alcohol. one of our party decided to order a glass prosecco. the waiter informed the whole table that his per capita consumption of alcohol drinks had reached its limit, and that no further charges would be. we thought he was sweating. this was far from the case, and when we put our unbelievers to the test, what he said, that no one at the table had shown the least signs of poisoning, the young man was then quite concerned. the way he spoke to us was beyond believe. we have never had such an insulting experience. we will not return."

"My wife and I visited this restaurant for her birthday last year and really enjoyed it. We decided to to do the same this year. What we didn't realise was that it had changed hands. It soon became obvious that the new owners do not...have a clue... my steak was served rare instead of medium and the soufflé that we were looking forward to sharing wasn't cooked. When we sent this back to the kitchen there was no apology just two sparkling red wines arrived on our table. The evening was topped off by witnessing an argument between another dining couple and the head chef when the latter refused to honour a gift certificate. I hope that the gentleman took the new owners to Consumer Affairs. The actions of the head chef have no doubt lost this restaurant at least four customers, who will never return!"

"We went for the Sustain two-course meals (initially planned for three-courses but were too full to have the dessert), the service is fantastic, and the food is delicious! We love the beef tartare and tuna crudo. We also enjoyed the cocktails specially made by the staff!"

"Walk-in for casual after-show meal; very helpful and warm service in true Japanese style. Menu is simple and authentic with slight sophisticated and sensitive slant; elegantly served. Shared three small plates: a tempura prawns in a thin crusty thready pastry; gyoza of pan-fried, slightly savoury pork and cabbage; and a warm salad of shitaki, shimeji mushrooms, asparagus, snow peas, broccoli and tiny carrots. All were excellent and their arrival timed to please. Washed down with a smooth and reasonably priced Yarra Valley Pinot Noir."

"The food and the staff were pretty good, but when we arrived, we were told that the kitchen went to finish in 15 minutes, so we quickly and less than an hour after that they were our table in an effort to move us out to close them. our booking e-mail said we had the table for an hour, but we were hardly an hour there and we were rushed all the time."
