"In a foodie town with lots of options vying for the traveling gourmand, Les 400 Coups is an accessible, exhilarating & flavorful "must dine" in Old town Montreal. The design- forward setting blending seamlessly into the surrounding heritage environment, is classy, yet not off-putting or austere like so many establishments. The service from the maitre d' and on to the wait staff was efficient & engaging while seemingly effortless. The menu, while limited in scope, was incredible in presentation & combination of flavors. Most of the items are tasting portions, and yet with the five smaller dishes, the meal was entirely satiating. The green beans, and the cauliflower dishes were an explosion of flavor, and the tomato soup, unlike any had before, could be eaten daily. A daily spacial of Halibut was an especially lovely dish in a carrot broth. The in-house baked bread was some of the best of any restaurant I have ever enjoyed previously. Definitely a must visit when in Montreal."
