"This is a music venue, but it's a little more nicely done that your average bar. Unfortunately, it's just a few blocks out of the downtown in a slightly shady area of Halifax, so you're likely not going to stumble upon this place if you're from out of town. It's spacious and attracts a younger crowd.The music, like all music, is hit or miss.The service, as all service is in a large bar, restaurant or venue, is impersonal."

"In 2015, Halifax declared donairs the official food of the city. It's basically beef shawarma (if you've had it in Toronto) or the beef version of a lamb gyro (if you've had it at a halal cart in New York City). It's the evolution of the doner kebab to what Haligonians call "donair." It comes with a donair sauce — condensed milk and garlic. I highly recommend getting the donair sauce on the side and trying it on it's own before drizzling it all over your wrap. Johnny K's is located on an iconic street corner called Pizza Corner, known as the go-to place for 3:00am post-partying nibbles. If you have a donair, you can claim you've had the official Halifax food. If you skip it, you haven't missed much."

"We are lucky to have this pizza shop in the neighbourhood! Fairly priced, and tasty pizza. Best point: The staff are incredibly personable, friendly, helpful, and kind. That will keep me coming back for more! I have one negative criticism (however Dimitri's shares it with most other pizza places in Halifax) I find that something in the pizza is too salty — it's good pizza and doesn't need to be salty at all! Bon appetit!"

"Each week we order in lunch for about people who are still coming in to the office , during the Covid pandemic. This week we chose Blue Olive and it was excellent! Owner Jimmy took our order, supplied cutlery and napkins, delivered the order...himself; everything arrived hot and the order was accurate. Everyone really enjoyed their lunch and the serving size/quality was top notch. We had chicken skewer plates, moussaka plates and pastichio plates. ALL WERE DELICIOUS! If you’re looking for a takeout lunch or delivery ... try Blue Olive !!! Their family specials, dinners and desserts are also wonderful."

"Great discovery! amazing for families and some of the best burgers we ever had. travel from ontario with the family and found darrell 's. kinder loved it. our waitress was so nice to us and especially to the children. they would recommend the erdnussbutter burger and the henne 'den burger. great eating at a great price! will definitely be back on our next trip through halifax."

"We have been going to this bakery every time we feel like some stuffed dough stuff. I dont know their name, but they are amazing. There are some pieces of dough with stuffing such as meat, spinach or cheese and they are so good they sell out fast in the mornings when they are fresh. For me personally, I only go there for those buns and will still do so, worth it every visit."
