"Food was great. The pimento cheese grits are phenomenal! The Mediterranean salad was perfect. I was very impressed with our server. We NEVER had to ask for anything. When our drinks were half full a new one appeared! All this was accomplished without the waitress hovering over us. Absolutely impressed with the level of service we received."

"5 3 Don DeVore is Knoxville's Anthony Bourdain. A man who has been in business for over 40 years and it works! (Coast to Coast I may add) Most places cannot really depend on a changing social environment. I tell you that the bathrooms are immaculate and the kitchen is immaculate! You can see everything. I don't think there was a germ to be found! That means the amount of food or product you get for the price? It's pretty impressive. I mentioned that we ate seafood from one coast to another! And a few spots in between. Don's hidden food is one of the best! I'm posting pictures, but you have to go in there and eat! I've seen similar amounts of food that didn't taste so good would go well over $80! He knows the high-end food scene and goes this way to his customers. He actually leads it like a pop-up kitchen! You have to support this place, because one is a rarity. Oh, and one more thing when you go to a restaurant to eat, probably not try to wear your feelings on your shirt sleeves! If you're so fragile, stay home! The bad reviews are an outlier, which means that someone has a kind of emotional question that they want to take care of the setup and project. Don almost died a while back, so yes, sometimes people are not as happy as they were if everything was just peach keen! Not one person on this planet has only good days in the chain of life! Show compassion and empathy. This new established religion called Me'ism is a bad one."

"Wow. This was such a great experience! We were tourists and out of towners passing through Knoxville from Gatlinburg to Nashville and had to stop in to watch Ohio State play (and lose!!! to Oregon. Since there was a home Tennessee game, this HUGE sports bar was completely empty. First floor had 5 people, and upstairs had 4 people including us. Lesson learned, people in the south actual GO to the games while people in the west go to sports bars to watch their teams play... With that out of the way, we were upstairs and the bartender was one of the best, friendliest, and sweetest bartenders I've ever come across. She let us taste a variety of beers from their 40+ taps as we're from Oregon and love beer, especially IPA's. She was so engaging and helpful and really made our entire experience special. She even turned one of the TV's away from the Tennessee game so we could watch Ohio State and Oregon play. Besides this awesome waitress/bartender (who needs to move to Portland and show people in the hospitality industry what TRUE hospitality really is! the rest of Barleys was awesome too. Beautiful old brick building with original wood floors. Huge tap selection upstairs and downstairs. Big new flat-screen TV's to watch games on. Cool covered patio area outside. Pool and some video games upstairs. Pizza was really good and their appetizer of pita, sausage and pimento cheese was unique and really tasty as well. I cant express what a great time it was for us and how I can't wait to get back to Knoxville to watch college football here again!"

"This is a semi fast food style restaurant. Order your food, get your drink and wait for someone to bring you the food. I tried the grilled lamb gyro and it’s very tasty. The side dashes are pretty good too. It’s not a fancy restaurant and you don’t have to pay for it."
