"An appointment near Cologne was pleasant. No problem, but in the late evening a noise from the body was noticeable. Where is a fully equipped kitchen? The well-known burgers and snack chains are not questioned. My local accompaniment has something in mind, we're on the street with two cars, I'm going back. Gentlemen! Where's the ride? More and more in the Cologne centre. I don't know myself here, I don't know the destination, hopefully the traffic light is there (1 x dark pink is there. Over the stairs we get off the hay market. The rectangle offers gastronomy in almost every house. The XII Apostle is proposed to cultivate from outside, but not with "wow". We enter the restaurant and I slip out a clear “wow”! A great atmosphere! Very large, but cozy, lots of wood, pleasant lighting, beautiful floor tiles and ceiling painting. It reminds me of the mortal charm of Cuba's Hotel Nacional. Ambiente 5* is given here emotionally. At the imposing counter at the entrance we are kindly greeted and thundered. We can pick up a table on the window. Sit, breathe, happy. The friendly gentleman in the service reaches us the weekly map, which is very nicely compiled. 1 bottle of mineral water, 0.75 l, we can order immediately. This is also served equally and well cooled. A basket of fresh baguette with... nix. That was really bad. If a little greeting, why not a good olive oil, a quark, fresh cheese... don't have to cost much. The baguette is really good, but 1 slice is without color. And many slices just go back, that costs unused more and I'm sorry. 2 DIN A 4 cards with beautiful dishes are in front of us. Week card and day card. It'll be okay. Another: such a big restaurant? Around us we discover beautiful airy pizzas with other guests, but the cover is not on our map to discover. The attentive service is right back. My accompaniment chooses: Penne in Bärlauchpesto with beef strip and delicious tomatoes up to €14.90 from the day ticket. I decide even if the pizza.... but for spaghetti with beard puffsto with fried tomatoes and pine nuts from the lunch card to € 8.95. For the further return journey, I simply had reservations that such a wonderful pizza would leave the sleep mode on the highway. The mysterious solution for the selection of foods: we are completely blind. Before us, covered at the table is an “Apostel Daily”. In the excited conversation we both do not see the newspaper with the detailed and large menu and also reports a lot of interesting about the restaurant! We remain in our choice and write more attention to the essential (good food behind the gastro (inexperienced spoons! The 2 similar dishes are served after a very short waiting period. Here you are set up for professionals. Even we did not have too much time, but the time taken to eat well prepared food in peace. My accompaniment as happy as I am. Pasta to the point, the beef strips also juicy and delicate. For me the pasta would have missed a certain sharpness, but the pepper mill was ready at the table (Chili would have liked it better. On the roasted pine cores of my plate was not picked and the nut aroma is just good. Fresh cheese from Plane Mill steals us ready. I also ordered my court to test me. Of course it does not flow into the evaluation, but my beard liquor is better. But this beard also comes from our garden and I love him. All around us enjoyed a very relaxed lunch. I took the Undercover Daily Menu. In the eye are an overnight stay in the house and choice of dinner from the complete card. Because now I know you have to keep your eyes open and read the newspaper! I liked it. Good kitchen – friendly, attentive service – all well maintained and clean, except for the toilets. About 30 years ago I visited Cologne. It convinced me again (I don't tell you that I am a native/düsseldorfer, actually I want to order an old one... but then I can't write anymore."
