"Rabsel garden cafe must be one of the most peaceful places in kathmandu. located in a quiet courtyard in one of the most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, it is a nice place to have a cozy meal, snack or drink while they feel (or, know, check their email.) the menu includes all the usual bases for a travel restaurant in nepal: pizza, pasta, salads (searched, mostly organic and hygienic) as well as being prepared to be prepared. as usual in this part of the world, not everything is always available on the menu. I particularly appreciate the fresh juices. everyone is welcome (they do not have to stay in jail, although they have a nice guest house) and there are many sitting places both inside and outside in the garden. proceeds support the important work of the monastery to preserve Buddhist tradition. finding it: from the Boudhanath guest-Stupa they take the road that goes north (against the small tempel at the main entrance of the inner courtyard of the stupa) and follow the signs to the Shechen Monastery (they will leave left, and then after a minute or two the monastery entrance on the right side, near an ecological-themed mural signages they will go up once in the closter. go along a row of stupas and then the entrance to the garden on the left."
