"One of the best days you can spend on Lombok is at cafe Alberto. The pool is brilliant for children and adults and the food is really tasty. Try the fried icecream if it is available. But beware, it is addictive"

"This place was recommended by our tour guide and what an unassuming place to get hand made pasta but it was truly amazing! I also read previous reviews that the thicker pastas were a lot better and I could not agree more. We loved the pasta so much we got it delivered to our hotel for lunch the next day! We also had their pizza delivered via Grab a day earlier and it was 10/10 hands down. Service was a little lacklustre at the beginning but once they warmed up to us it got better. Perhaps a little fine tuning in service and a little touch of warmth to new guest would do the trick."

"Love this place.. delicious authentic food with cool rustic design and soft Latin music.. been going there many time having my favourite spaghetti randang plus tapas too.. good price and lovely friendly owners and staff. They also do fabulous desserts and bespoke birthday cakes. Thanks Baraka for my fun delicious evenings."

"Best meal I had on Gili. Salt and pepper Calamari was super starter. Super soft beef ribs for the main were amazing and cut off with one of my personal favorites creme brûlée. The staff was also beautiful"

"Spacious place with nice interior; good for drinking coffe, tea or shakes; decent food (including some Balkan dishes). It's also a good place to work from (stable WiFi, good tables and chairs, open till night). Although prices are above average, it's ok to sit there with the same coffee for two hours or so."

"THINK TWICE HERE! It’s sad, because the hotel is really perfect: staff is friendly, it’s clean, the food and pool is very good. It normally deserves 5 stars. BUT: The muezzin next to it blows out every day with an incredible volume at 4:45 AM for 5 minutes, then again at 05:00 AM, a few more times during the day and from 7:00-8:30 pm up to 90 minutes. I measured up to 80db measured in my bed. As a reference, this is the volume of a high speed train passing by with 10m distance. Even with ear plugs which are provided by the hotel this is not the holiday you want. You cannot get that drunken to not frequently wake up from it. It’s a shame for the hotel and I feel very sorry for my lack of cultural respect, but this form of religious fanaticism ruins your Gili experience completely. Do yourself a favor and mind the hotel and everything nearby to the mosques. I am so sorry for the Voodoo team : but there is one single reason to book a hotel: to get a good rest at night or at least at any point during day instead). This is not given. Everything else is just nice to have. Maybe you can talk and convince the mullah to decrease the volume by 10db…"
