"Great restaurant. Great pasta, meat and pizza. I spent Christmas holidays in a villa closed to l Angolo. Restaurant is managed by a family who is very kind and professional. They arranged an amazing lunch for 16 person in a villa. All the guests were happy for food served. I recommend this place not only as restaurant but also tu use as catering for special event in the villa around Montepulciano"

"We ate twice at Ristorante il Covo: first at lunch and another day at dinner. My wife declared If we lived here, this would be my favorite restaurant. Il Covo has a simple menu of about 6 appetizers, 6 first courses ,6 mains, plus a selection of pizzas. No pizza for us, but everything else was excellent. My sweetheart ordered an outstanding bowl of gnudi: a flourless gnocchi made with spinach and ricotta cheese. It was served with a cheesy cream sauce and topped with pistachio nuts. She made the slipper ' and mopped her bowl clean with a slice of bread. The pici pasta with a tomato sauce spiked aglione (a local variety of large garlic) was hearty and filling. The white bean soup is simply outstanding. This is a thick and creamy broth perfectly seasoned and still lets the flavor of the humble beans come through. Salmon is not a native Italian fish, by wife 's fillet encrusted with pistachios was nice. My beef stewed in a local red wine was dark, hearty, and delicious. The walls in Il Covo also act as the wine cellar. Just browse the shelves and select a wine that appeals to you. Most of the wines are priced less than 30 euros per bottle"

"Better to be. The service was very slow and our Tagliata was served cold due to lack of coordination between kitchen and staff. Potatoes were dried and heated in a microwave. We understand that the restaurant was rather packed, but the staff will definitely need better coordination."
