"A group of couples came in without a reservation on a hot saturday night. The air con was refreshing being as many other restuarants didnt have any, so it was much appreciated. I had the Zuppa di Pesce as i have had it here before and it was out of this world! Did not disappoint again! Although it could have had more seafood in the meal it was hearty and delicious! Hubby had calamari and wasn't as satisfied. The calamari wasnt seasoned, as with the chips, but was cooked well and wasnt stringy. Other couple was happy with the food. Waiter was very attentive and friendly."

"I would say first it was nothing like I had expected. Being a wine bar I had visions of lots of exposed wine racks or clever cellar options. Wrong!, So back to the start, the entrance is somewhat subdued, you enter into a smallish carpeted area, pleasant yet unassuming. Walking further in you pass some high tables with high stools and a bar to the left, further back there is about 8 sit down tables. What strikes you is the concrete floor, not something I associate with either Essendon or wine bars. The front of house man was very pleasant, had a chat about the place, took the order, all well done, but I will come back to him and the menu later. Over at the bar (you cannot order a drink with your food, you must go to the bar), The wine storage behind the bar appeared quite extensive, I ordered a couple of glasses of wine and was asked did I want to pay for it, bit silly surely you would wait till the end and pay in one hit, I said no and that was ok, just seemed a bit odd. The waitress brought our meal, she was pleasant and helpful, the meal looked very inviting. We had steak with roasted vegetables with a side dish of chips. I can say the meal was as ordered, steak was very nice. I don't like to pick holes, but as I write these review as often as I can, I must be honest to be fair to all. The chips very very hot, sadly the steak was at best just warm, it was a pity as it tasted great, I know chefs like to rest the meat, but not so long as to be just warm. Apart from this our meal was faultless. Now back to the main man, very nice chap, clearly wine is his thing, he mentioned something about sampling various wines, I think he could spend a bit more time explaining exactly how the sampling works. The menu also includes the wine list, all in one plastic folder. Personally I think the food menu should be on one menu and wine on another, why? I did a rough count of the wines and there was at least 100 to choose from, fantastic, but it would have been better on their own, maybe with tasting notes. Last for the general ambience, chic modern, the floor is concrete as the place turns into a sort of night club much later in the evening, their are large speakers, disco balls and the usual music equipment. If you are going for a romantic evening give it a miss, if you want a out with a few friends who are into wine and you want a pretty fair feed to go with it, then go for it, if you wish to chat, then go earlier in the evening, as cannot tell you what it's like when it morphs in the music scene but there pretty hefty speakers.."

"We are trying different pizzas from the Essendon/Keilor/Moonee Ponds area and tried this one for take out. I am pleased that we did. We ordered the Bruchetta and the Bomber. Found them both very good, good amount of toppings and not soggy (even with the Bruchetta pizza loaded with fresh tomatoes). I'd order from here again."
