"In Nersac for a meeting with a superb translator, I followed his suggestion that I enjoy lunch in the charming little restaurant beside the bridge. I owe him for this suggestion, although I might blame him for turning me into a foodie. This little place serves food that could have that effect. The soup starter was so divine, I was torn between savoring it slowly or devouring it and licking the bowl. This was accompanied by the fresh, soft and crispy bread that is only achieved by a fresh-from-the-oven delivery and a small carafe of superb house wine. Thinking that any main course would suffer in comparison with the absolute perfection of that potage, they surprised me again. Wild rice risotto was topped by turkey done in an a l 'orange style. Simply superb. The beautiful meal was topped by a panna cotta with flavors ranging from a hint of cinnamon over delicate sweetness, interspersed with delightful little raspberry explosions. Impeccable service throughout, including a greeting and bon appetit from the owner herself...finalizing the meal with a perfectly served cup of coffee and a bill that totaled (with TVA) 12.80. This was an unexpected delight and an amazing bargain."
