"My shy daughter who is coeliac, so needs strict gluten free attended a staff farewell night at Cafe Lyon last night. We do not live in the local area, and have not visited this restaurant before, so she was uncertain of how her requirements would be looked after, yet hates having to draw attention to herself, especially in group functions. So she and I called past in person in the preceding afternoon to check. The fellow there doing paperwork ?owner?? was so helpful, welcoming and informative, that we both left feeling so, so positive and reassured about the upcoming group dinner. And the dinner indeed lived up to our hopes. My daughter has spoken several times already today in glowing terms about the staff, the exquisite food, the welcome, the respectful kind service. She was so impressed that she even showed us the menu on the restaurant website to take us through exactly what she ordered. What a delight!! She asked me to write a review, so when I opened TA and saw the great TA rating for Cafe Lyon, it was no surprise. Bravo for a wonderful restaurant that shows such gracious and delightful hospitality. I think that my daughter will now set this restaurant as the standard against which all experiences will be compared. Many thanks."
