"Really funny atmosphere with cool decor here. The menu is full of funny American and Caribbean flavors. The roasted chicken, grilled corn and burgers were outstanding. HOW WAS THE RUCKHUHN, even if it lacked the kick I expected. The bar, which tended, was outraged when I asked to replace Gin for vodka in one of the cocktails, but in his defense it was delicious. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was quiet, so if you want a cool afternoon, that's the day to go."

"Pho was nice as was the service, however it was the size of a small pho in comparison to other Vietnamese restaurants and it was $15 which I found a little steep for what you receive. Good option in the area, just value for money isn't reasonable."

"Famous for a reason! Great coffee, sweets and savoury pastries. Seating is on the sidewalk so it can feel a bit tight but it's better since the construction on Devonshire has lighten up."

"On a super simple Haloumi Burger $10) there is no place to hide floury tomatoes. It is an inconspicuous introduction to the new child on the decimated remains of Devonshire Street; although after removing the decreasing slices, I am able to improve my burger with... the generous portion of well drained, thin frits. Despite the abundance of plated food photos that Instagram gracing, you get it in your head that Saltie is predominantly a take-away food and coffee counter. The handful of bar stools sit directly in the service area and are usually used by people who surf the internet on their iPhones while waiting for their coffee orders. Salt uses clean lines and economical decoration to give good effect in tiny space. The menu is also bare bones – bowls, burgers and all-day breakfast items – supplemented by a counter full of salads and some specialties on the chalkboard. After four or five visits to give the menu a good walk, going my lunch is their Poke $12) bowl. Found to contain Ahi Thun, it is sometimes substituted to laugh without warning, but it is always a satisfying if some salty) bowl of raw fish, sesame oil, cakes, shoyu, sea salt and brown rice. When ordering a Matcha Mint Pistachio Frappe $6) causes the counterhand consternation, as it is on a day when I dine, poke goes fine with the bottles of Jiva Ginger Kombucha $5.50). Quality Australian garlic would improve their Felafel Wrap $10) by the garlic sauce is not so raw and aggressive, although I am a great fan of super soft spinach packaging. The Lamb Bowl $12) – another daily special – is also a brown rice affair, with a cubed tomatoes and cucumber salad and lashes of yogurt and garlic sauce. It is blown up by throwing the lamb shoulders on the grill – despite smoking from the small shop front – but from them leave too much chewing grip in the mix. I consume my lamb bowl with a Caramel Milkshake $6) that tasted too much like caramel aroma syrup to push me back for another. But also with some less than perfect experiences, Saltie is a good one if something ladish supplement to the surface. Well, if we could only get the government of the NSW to crush and cut it..."
