"Yeah yeah, I know, you can get picadas pretty much anywhere in Veracruz as most street food vendors have them. The difference is that this place is really neat and clean, unlike your local market or the lady selling them at the corner of a busy street, who washes her plastic plates with the same water and rag all day long. ...but anyways... here you will be able to find authentic Veracruz food which you cannot find anywhere else in Mexico. Picadas, which are basically Aztec Pizzas, that are made of corn dough, your choice of salsa for the sauce and fresco cheese (crumbling cheese), Gorditas, Empanadas, Molletes (simply a piece of some bread similar to french bread, cut in half, smeared with beans and cheese and sometimes ham..just sinful), enchiladas and many other things that you just don 't find anywhere. It is cheap, you cannot pay enough for cleanliness and that safe feeling that you get from eating at a decent place, but this is pretty safe. ...oh, I forgot to mention that you can order any NATURAL fruit juice that you like, and when I say natural, I mean natural, different from the definition of natural of the US, which consist on a glass full of Florida 's natural, or Tropicana....This ladies and gents is Real local fruit, squeeze it in front of you type of juice, Orange, Apple, Grapefruit, Pineaple, etc. also you can get Freshly made Chocolate milk, Strawberry and for you healthy freaks, you can make your own, they can get really fancy like orange, celery, egg and hay for example. Simply delicious!!!!"

"Un pco de todo, as they say in Spanish... a little bit of everything: stalls full of fresh foods, snacks, and everything Mexican. Sit down to eat task and authentic and cheap tacos, tort as, tamales. Don't miss this corner of Veracruz...locals say beware of...pickpockets, but everyone we met in the market was helpful and friendly."

"Went there with a friend a bit late on a Sunday evening. Restaurant was close to closing time but still we were given a table next to a window. Decor is quite nice and creates a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy talking to friends or partner...and eating together. Our sushi was quite nice and tasty, though I have to admit that it has been adapted to Mexican taste. I also ordered a miso soup that was surprisingly good. The only problem was some lack of experience in the waiting service that somehow disturbed what could have been a fabulous experience. But despite that I will gladly go back to Domu."

"El Llagar (Punta Azul, Boca del Rio) visited for the first time. My wife, my brother-in-law and mother's right, all the state of Veracruz, except me. I never had Spanish tapas in Mexico, only in Spain and the USA. We thought the food was excellent. For better or worse, the portion sizes are large, especially compared to what you find in Spain. I ordered Alubias con almejas (giant lima bean soup with mussels), Macarrones con chorizo y serrano (Penne Pasta with Spanish chorizo, Serrano ham and Marinara sauce) and Pulpo a la gallega (Gallician octopus). Everything was good. There were only three very large shells in the soup, but the broth took the taste well. I almost never arrange pasta in Mexico, because like Steak it is usually overhauled. This dish was simple, but perfectly prepared. Pulpo a la gallega is probably my favorite tapa. Everyone makes it a little different. Although not the best I ever tasted, the version of el Llagar was really good... and Veracruz makes Pulpe very good in general if you like Oktopus. Since this was a tapas evening, I got to taste other dishes. The pork dish my (Koch) brother-in-law was slowly cooked, tender and juicy. All of them remained happy. The biggest miss was that half of the food came before we had something to drink, especially because they did not have the bottle of wine we ordered, and the subsequent negotiations took a while. There was a loud and seemingly drunk table nearby, but I am a little more for that when in Mexico. Overall, this is definitely a place we will return to. The view makes for a great dusk in the historic Veracruz."

"My husband and I went here to celebrate his birthday and had a wonderful meal. We shared the cricket appetizer and he had a fish loin served on a leaf and I had braised rib meat tacos. I slipped them a note that it was my husband 's birthday and they presented him with a beautiful piece of cake and ice cream with a birthday candle. The service was excellent and we both enjoyed the food and the restaurant. We will go back this was our first visit."
