"Typical pub meals if you like that sort of thing. I had the top of the line Porterhouse steak ($27) which was advertised as 'melt in your mouth'. Far from it. It was overcooked and fairly tough. A complaint seemed to go nowhere. Other meals (rissoles, Parmigiana, burgers) were quite good. Deserts were just OK. Have had much better elsewhere. Service was friendly. May go back, but will not go for the supposedly great expensive meals."

"Visited here for dinner last week. The menu isn't complex, but has some really good options. The staff are friendly enough. The real highlight is the food. The curries were spectacular and bursting with flavour. The one thing I didn't think much of was the coconut rice: it was orange, and upon asking found out that it had a stack of sugar in it. It was more like a desert than a coconut flavoured rice. That aside, everything was really good. Definitely worth a visit, seems very popular with locals."

"When we look at the reviews, this place seems to be hit or missing, but we can say that where we are very happy with our eating. the curry lambs were amazing, super delicate with a beautiful smooth masamonic curry. well connected with cocostry. the deep roasted whole barramundi was really nice to add our meal a crispy texture. it had the right amount of spices and was not too difficult to handle when it came to the bones. the service was ok, but they sometimes seemed a little short staff. "Not joking! I have eaten salmon in many restaurants and never had it cooked so perfectly. Particularly as I like it well done not 'raw ' like all the TV chefs seem to think is perfect. It was beautifully moist with lovely crispy skin. Thank you, chef. Our other meals were the Vietnamese beef curry. Lovely flavour, but beef just a tad chewy. Pork belly waas cooked well, but crispy skin a tad too salty for me (and I love my salt). We 've been ordering room service, so do miss out on the daily specials, which would mix things up a bit. Staff were happy for us to order off the main menu too, which was a bonus. Order and delivery time was excellent."

"Rainy Saturday morning, my roommate and I were trying to decide whether the uncovered walk to our breakfast destination was worth it.. Until we realised that Stables does breakfast! We weren't quite sold until the lovely waitress popped her head out and greeted us. We felt so welcomed by her that we knew we'd have breakfast here. I had a tea however my friend raved about the coffee. We each ordered the Punters breakfast and my friend asked if she would be able to swap one element of the breakfast out for salmon. The waitress was so accommodating and it was no trouble. The meal was huge, and absolutely everything on the plate was fantastic. Even though we don't particularly like haloumi, it was exceptional. Really amazing work and it was a very reasonable wait time. It was a really nice atmosphere for breakfast- not loud and busy but not dead quiet either. So hard to find that of a Saturday morning, but maybe we haven't been looking hard enough ;) I really do want to thank our waitress, I wish I'd gotten her name. Her service was so natural, friendly and professional. Made the experience just perfect. We will be back!"
