"When you are in Cowes, unless you are having your food on the beach, then there are going to be few places that will have a view like Hotel does. This quaint little pub has a great open air feeling and with some fabulous views. This is a sit anywhere type place. We managed to find a seat right at the windows and decided to grab a pizza. Tracking down a server was a bit of a challenge, but instead I just went directly to the bar and ordered, Easy-peasy. The pizza was out shortly and was fresh and hot. Beer was cold, pizza was great and the views were fantastic. Overall, great spot, good food and cold beer. Atmosphere was chill and some good tunes playing. Servers were in a bit of short supply, but when we did get one they were super friendly. Great spot to have a drink and enjoy the views."

"Having seen this restaurant open after the closure of the previous Japanese Restaurant (which we loved) we thought that we should try it out. It's restaurant sign says that it is Japanese Tapas (which is what the previous restaurant was) so we went there last week without a booking and we were able to get a table outside on the veranda as it had been a particularly hot day. We had no problem doing this and there was a cool breeze that ensured we had made the right decision. However, this is not a Tapas bar - as was the previous restaurant. You basically had to select entrees or main meals. But this was OK and we selected three entrees and a main. To be fair the food was certainly fresh and flavoursome, but by the time we added a bottle of wine to the menu, it was obvious that it was going to cost us a bit more than we expected. There were no complaints about the food or the service (which could not be faulted). But the servings were small (given the price). Throw in one of the cheapest bottles of red and it cost us $120. If we had been too full to finish off everything, this might have been a reasonable price, but we probably could have ordered more (which is unusual for us as we usually can't finish what we have ordered).Again, we cannot fault the service or the freshness of the food, but not sure it is value for money or maybe we are not used to spending this amount on food. Definitely worth a try if you are into Japanese food, and definitely worth sitting outside if the weather is quite warm. Will think about whether we will go back or not. Perhaps we just didn't order the right food."
