"I 'm an outlier. Loved the interior of the restaurant (and even the hotel lobby); hated the food. My pork chop came overcooked (i.e., bone dry) and the follow-up one was undercooked. The potatoes were tasteless (if a potato can be tasteless), the side of mushrooms were overcooked, and their signature Kennebec fries were soft, cold, and tasteless. My companion had the ribeye and judged it as edible, but lacking a discernable beef flavor. We both had the cheesecake for dessert, but we didn 't finish them. Service started off fine, but when I mentioned the second pork chop didn 't work, either, it went downhill from there. Loved the interiors and I like old hotels. Classic example of a hotel restaurant touted as being great when, in fact, it is not. Like other reviewers, I love the interiors, but the food is pretty bad. It 's a tourist hotel on Hollywood Blvd. That should have been a clue. Duh."

"We celebrated a birthday with Gwen. Our experience was far beyond what we had ever expected. We chose the wine room for a more intimate culinary experience. We were so well visited by Sommelier, the waiting staff, the hosts. The food was amazing. We started with the charcuterie appetizer, the godfather was for dying! A steak, Brussels spirouts and sticky toffee pudding for dessert, everything was perfect!! We're back, even if we just sit at the bar for wine and appetizers. Thanks at Gwen, it is a very special culinary experience."

"Exceptional Mediterranean-influenced meals. We enjoy the roasted veggies and pita sharing plate and the pistachio chocolate dessert cake every time.
