"I often travel to Charlotte for work, and I eat ALWAYS at least once every trip at LaWan. Sometimes I eat twice a day. Food at LaWan is like food in your family's house. The location is literally as easy as possible, in a strip-mall from Texaco, but the food is DELICIOUS, and for someone who travels as much as I is it is nice to get a real vegetable when you are away from home. The whistling, catfish and roasted chicken are great, but my favorite, if the fried pig's stable, which is usually on Thursday. With something green, okra and one side of Cornbread, it makes you want to hit someone because it is so good! And the food is cheap. You can have two adult people for under $20 and both are full. They even have homemade desserts, but honestly I never had enough space to try them. If you go for lunch, you can call it because they are quickly packed inside. A friend also told me that they have sacrificed Thanksgiving lunches for his office last year and it was amazing, so give them a call if you want to make your office happy."

"If you haven?t given Johns a chance you ought to. As you can see by the pictures I?ve been here a few times. I stopped in today (1/7/22) and had the prime rib sandwich. It was damn good ??? Food is always delicious. It is Southern comfort food. It just hits your soul with each bite. Gotta order the daily specials. Yes it changes everyday. So you gotta check ?em out everyday. You can order online and you can find the specials online too."

"The ambiance is very nice, feels like home and everyone is very kind. For appetizers we got the salmon patties, green fried tomatoes, and egg rolls and they were ok. The appetizers are very small potions but the entre made up for that. I got the blackened pork chops and they were very bland, not much if any flavor. But luckily everyone at our table got something different so I got to try other things. Now that Iv tried a enough to know what's really good to me I would highly recommend the fried chicken, mac and cheese and collard greens. The cornbread alone deserves 5stars. For dessert we got the sweet potato cake and it was good but I going for the lemon cake next time. Overall good experience."

"Food tastes good. Crab cakes could be better, they were a bit muddy and. It's cracking crabs. Edamame was delicious with Siracha salt. Wild chicken: white meat was a bit hard. Dark meat had good taste with mustard and mushrooms. The sea mussels were perfectly cooked and delicious. Risotto was a bit lukewarm. They could warm up their plates to make sure that the base on which the food sits is not cool. Great service. Wine selection is beautiful. Trendy, good for together with friends or even with children. Anniversary dinner maybe choose somewhere else with a little more ambience. It was loud and sometimes hard to hear about the table. I'd go back and try lunch."

"First time here and we were not disappointed. Eating excellent, waiting staff excellent and a very warm atmosphere and decor. We sat up and our server, Carlee, was very helpful in ordering and made us really appreciated as customers. Our only problem was that someone screamed in the whole room. Even with a very lively sat night crowd, it was a little annoying at times. We first thought it was an overly jealous customer at another table, but when it went on, we realized that it was an actual employee in the kitchen. Surely there are other ways to communicate in this high-tech world. While this was distracted, it did not dampen our overall experience, and we will be back safely!"
