"This was a birthday trip for eats. I placed an order of the curried goat soup with Vietnamese noodles. It took a little time to place the order due to language difficulities, my problem. It took an intervention by someone who understood English to nail down the order. If the noodles fell through I would have gone with the rice. I have been there many times and always order this menu item. Usually I eatin but have requested takout the last few times. I try and make the trip for about 1:30 or after 6:30 in the evening to avoid the rush and hectic traffic. I normally park down where HomeSenseis or was and take the back roads in and out. I thoroughly enjoy the spicey curry, it has a good bite, The goat has always been tender. The serving is large enough to do me for three meals I am not usually a large eater) with the takeout. When I order and eat in, I almost inhale the food and I am able to empty the bowl,"

"I would rate Zero if I could. It has been my worst experience at a restaurant. Today I was waiting for my orders there. I was told to check back in around 10 minutes but over 20 minutes they were not ready yet. Due to my time schedule was tight so I asked a waitress if my order could get ready sooner. They checked and told me not ready yet. Then I waited there and said nothing. After I picked up my order and went to a corner table packing my stuff before leaving, I heard the waitress said I was Crazy and Idiot in Cantonese. She didn't know I was still there. So I explained to her i was rush according to a schedule, and I never blamed them being slow. I was a customer without complaining, so definitely she shouldn't Verbally Abuse a customer like me. The boss and manager (a man) told me over 80% of their customers were satisfied and Asked me to Leave the restaurant Immediately, Otherwise He will Call the Police. I was quite shock to what he said. The Abusive Waitress/Receptionist never apologized and turned her face aside when I was talking to her manager. They didn't feel bad or wrong about what they did to the customer at all. No wonder this manager/boss trained Abusive staffs. If I left earlier, I would never know the staff abused me for nothing and the boss/manager allowed her. I will never go there and not recommend anyone to go there for the meals. People want to spend money on enjoying delicious food without being verbally abused behind us. I would go to the restaurants being grateful and appreciative for their customers."

"Cute little cafe that adds warmth to the adorable J-Town. I always love deep fried pork chops with ever so sweet Japanese curry (Katsu Curry-Don)! It's very tasty! The rice is best soaked in the sweet curry. One spoonful of drenched curry rice and another bite of the savory crispy pork chop, instantly transports me to heaven! I love this cute little cafe and everything in J-Town. Very good for foodies like me to venture out and find new food adventures!"

"I decided to give this establishment a second chance after suffering an initial bad experience a while back, caused by a few insensitive and border-line hostile wait staff. Amongst over a handful of Hong Kong cafe style eateries along the Avenue stretch between Leslie...and Woodbine. One taste of Hai Tang's food propels them to close to the top of the heap. With one plate dishes and wok-hay' preparation their forte, the area that stood out IMO, was their amazing and commercial tasting delicious sauces! Very reminiscence of the taste profile offered by some of the better cafe style food found in Hong Kong. Price point of their lunch specials was also very attractive and extremely good value. A definite go-to place for an enjoyable value-for-money lunch if in the area."

"This is typical Thai/Vietnamese restaurant. We visited it for a lunch on Saturday. Place was quite full, but we got a table without reservation. Place is clean, staff and service are good.All portions were large. I ordered vermicelli with shrimps. My choice was marked on a menu as hot, but I found it a bit bland.No beer can be served (they don't have a license).Probably this place will be good for a quick lunch on business day, but I would not recommend it as a place to go out."
