"We went to Smithy for brunch. It was a hip venue with extremely helpful and friendly staff. They sat our party in a private area separate from most of the other diners, which gave us plenty of privacy. The food was excellent and the chef was willing to make adjustments (allowed us to sub breakfast sausage for the salmon in the Salmon Benedict . My dish (the Garden of Eatin’ was tasty and we got an order of the truffle fries for the table—they were awesome! They also come in a very large bowl big enough for a party of 5. The mimosa flight was a great value and the cucumber-honey juice was delicious. Overall, it was a great time. The only “con” was the parking—it’s very limited but that’s to be expected in a busy Dallas neighborhood. We were able to grab a front spot but our other party members had to valet. Not a major issue for us but may be a downer for some. Other than that, we really enjoyed ourselves. Two thumbs up!"

"First time with my friend carol who turned me to this place...TOO smokin' hot for live jazz and standard music. the owner, great, met us at the door and was a great host. eating in the night (menu varies from night to night) was great. the heavenly porridge was spicy and delicate our server, jacob, has hit him out of the park. thank you, old! the satin puppies played these nights; a whole female quintett, which is very funny and lively. the saxophone player just murdered out there. the set list contained some very cool rare standards as well as original works from the band. carol and I couldn't stand it out and had to just stand up and dance in the lobby area at the doorway because the music was so good."
