"I book here each week for eother breakfast or lunch. Breakfast. Brilliant 3 egg omlette, i have with cheese, mushroom, spinach and tomato. Lovely cappucino Lunch. The vegetarian curry is delicious as is the beer battered haddock and chips. The desert was on the specials, apple pie and ice cream. Specials do change. Staff are very friendly. Always very busy so booking essential. Open from 830 am for breakfast. Lunch from 12 . Closes 5 pm. Last main orders about 4 pm. Highly recommended"

"Had a Groupon deal for coffee and crepes, so went here for the first time today why have I not been before??!! The food is delicious, staff are courteous but give you space to eat and chat; even without the deal would be excellent value for money. Thank you very much, and I'll definitely be back for more! xx"

"We used to go to the Holdi all the time, and thought it was superb. We wouldn’t have gone anywhere else. The food and service was always second to none. The food now sadly is very ordinary. My friend’s lamb was really tough, and my chicken was dry also. The waiting staff were always excellent and very courteous. They now seem very inexperienced, and whilst being attentive is good, asked us three times if we’d finished our starters, by the third time it became irritating. We were in early evening and no one else was in, so didn’t know what the rush was?? A guy who we presumed was a staff member came flying down the narrow alley (Where the entrance is) in a van and just missed us! As I said, we used to love this place, but the attention to detail and quality seems to have gone sadly and we won’t be returning."

"The little shoe is a joy. Eat is delicious. beautiful staff. every time we go, we'll buy a brot to get home. the eggs benedict is scum. had mine with smoked salmon; friend had her with gammon. I had to start their famous huge sausage roll, but it is changed: it is now much smaller; baked is now flaky and before was thrown in black pudding then baked, but now it is pieces of black pudding in the sausage mix. I had a negroni; friend had a dietary coke. then we had a cup of tea for two delicious"

"Decided to eat here as saw it was advertising breakfast. I ordered a standard breakfast and it was fantastic all home cooked and the standard of food was great. The breakfast came with bacon, sausage, beans, hash brown, egg and toast. I would definitely recommend...the galley for food and will be returning asap!"
