"We tried their signature tone noodles that come in other places with a few pieces of vegetables, but not here, so we ordered a supplement. The noodles are al dente, cooked only right on gum and not soggy. They use fresh medium...shrimps in the obtained ton that have the same al dente texture. Taste is good. The price is at the upper end of the middle. The restaurant has a constant customer flow, so it is full during lunchtime. Overall recommended."

"Solid food all around. Always has people which is a sign of a good restaurant. It is pretty clean and every dish I tried so far has been solid. I am a repeat customer here."

"The authenticity of food in this restaurant was oversold! My partner and I had heard many raving reviews of this eatery. Pictures of beautiful decor and neatly dressed plates of food convinced us to dine there on New Years 2016. However we were thoroughly disappointed with the food and the pricing as it didn't reflect the quality that should have been served. So first I'll start with the plus points that give this review a three star which is the service. The wait staff were just excellent! Kind, responsive and so neatly dressed which added to the ambience of the place. Our server whose name I don't know was just wonderful. He made every effort to suggest options and to check in to see if we were comfortable. So for that I'll give it full marks. But the rest of the experience is where it goes downhill. The portion sizes for appetizers were ridiculous and over priced. We ordered the pot stickers which although were somewhat tasty ended up being oily and expensive. Only three pieces of which the edges were pastry drowning in oil that was almost 8-9 dollars a plate! Next spicy chennai poutine. I get the idea of mixing the all famous Canadian poutine concept with south Indian food and yet it was a complete miss on this one. The fries were soggy and covered in oily curry. Again for the portion size on this too small and shouldn't be served on a banana leaf. Next the mains that we ordered which was two chicken gravies and three types of biryani: mutton, chicken and seafood. They were awful! I understand that Chettinad cuisine deserves a certain level of spice and heat...but it is how those spices are integrated into the biryani that counts. These rice dishes were just atrocious! Over spiced and lacking flavour depth! True Chettinad cuisine offers a delicate balance tang and spice . This biryani was just hot! You might as well have drowned the rice and meat mixture in double roasted curry powder. That is not how chettinad biryani is made! The chicken gravies weren't too bad. They were tasty and the consistency was good. By the end of it we ordered two of the pot stickers apps, one poutine, three biryanis, two chicken gravies and a lassi and our bill came out to a whopping 181 dollars with tax and tip. We did go as a group of 6 so it was a lot of food for a lot of people but by the time we reached home we had to make three bathroom stops because the food was just way too spicy. As a seasoned diner whose lived in India and eaten authentic Chettinad food I almost wonder if the food here is an interpretation of Babu's take out meets Karaikudi ? Chettinad is known for spice but not heat! I do commend the effort to invest and create a sit down space in Markham. Land doesn't come cheap and neither does staffing but the biggest investment in a restaurant is the quality and thoughtoutness of food. If we are to interpret a type of cuisine then it wouldn't be fair to treat it as authentic. Overall the experience was three star because of the food experience but the restaurant itself is beautiful with kind front line wait staff and I'm sure hard-working kitchen staff."
