"My sister was visiting from out of town and insisted we get pierogis because she can’t get any good ones where she lives. We have tried a few different places over the years when she has visited and this was our first time trying Smak-Tak. It definitely won’t be our last! We got the stuffed cabbage rolls, mushroom sauerkraut pierogis, and potato cheese pierogis. Everything was delicious! The cabbage rolls were the best I’ve ever had. They were perfectly stuffed and kept their shape nicely after cutting into them. The pierogis were both super tasty—perfect dough, well filled, perfectly cooked, and very flavorful. I think this will be my new go-to whenever she’s in town… and even when she’s not. Highly recommend!"

"Sounds like a great place to try! Needed to pick up some people from the airport, so I figured I 'd give it a shot. Temporarily Closed. I can 't have a real opinion about the place obviously, but it 's extremely disappointing to be looking forward to trying out a place only to find out that Google is wrong and the place is not Open Now."

"We were looking for someplace to eat for Thanksgiving as no one wanted to cook and to try a buffet this year. I read some reviews online that this place is one of the top 5 buffets in Chicago. Although they are primarily a Polish Buffet, there is something for everyone here. I am hesitant to give my review here, because it was so good. I kind of want to keep this secret to myself. You did not need a reservation for Thanksgiving and I am afraid that next year it might be really crowded. The building is run down, and does not look great from the outside. The inside is a typical sit down coffee shop style with tables and booths, nothing spectacular or exceptional, just a normal dining area. The Thanksgiving Buffet, which was only $30 per person (a bargain! was outstanding! The huge selection of meats, fish, poultry, sides, desserts, and Extras was worthy of any of the fanciest hotels downtown. The variety was huge. The only downside, no leftovers, although you could purchase food to go for $10 a pound. I was told that the buffet on Thanksgiving was something special, and the regular Buffet does not have anywhere near the amount of food that was presented on Thanksgiving. However, I am interested in trying them out on a normal day to see the difference. It's cash only, so make sure that you bring enough with you."
