"Good stop for lunch. Excellent craft beer Brewed on the premises with a good food menu. All the usual German options but they are well done here. Unusually and very helpfully for Bamberg they serve food all day. Unless you are lucky enough to be...able to fly to nearby Nuremberg, Bamberg is not the easiest place to get to and often you arrive just after 2 pm and it's very hard to get a decent feed until dinner time. This place is a good option Tried the schnitzel and it was very good. Nice thin slices of pork in breadcrumbs and thankfully not overdone Would recommend it"

"General: After a professional appointment in Erlangen, there was finally the opportunity for a tourist trip to Bamberg. A city that has a lot to offer: Bamberger Symphoniker, the multiple German basketball champion, a university and, of course, UNESCO World Heritage Site with 1,500 listed buildings and above the Kaiserdom with its four church towers, which is, of course, also a cathedral for the bishop based in Bamberg. This is exceptional for a city with 73,000 inhabitants! Bamberg is also a cradle of Franconian brew culture! However, I couldn't win anything from the speciality Schlenkerla Rauchbier. A taste as if the brewer had given hammocks to the wort. In view of the many breweries with Gasthof I had made a pre-selection Fässla and Keesmann and then chose Keesmann. Half an hour walk from downtown via the Main-Donau Canal and then along the shore you have to invest. A little off, so my speculation, it's probably more authentic. I can't say if that happens after a visit. At least at two tables English was spoken, otherwise indigenous. In the morning of the following day in the Fässla also east of the canal probably only locals. I can recommend the Keesmann. You should book, however, because the capacities are limited and far away from the major conspirators in Düsseldorf or Munich. The price-performance ratio is from Bremer's point of view for eye rubbing and if you see clearly, you can only forgive five stars! An Internet presence is emerging. Service: It was operated only in the courtyard. A female tribal force and a maid had that well under control and so the waiting times were short, even between soup and frying, which I do not like. The speech was friendly but without special personal touch. For service three stars. In Keesmann you can drink beers of brewery. Pils, camps, lights and white beers are the standard beers, supplemented with seasonal specialities. For half a liter, € 2.65 to € 2.75 will be due!!! Hardly more expensive than half a liter of water for €2.40. A Schoppen 0,25 l Frankenwein comes to 3,60 €. A health-politically dangerous price level, but I did not see drunkenness on the eve of Steinbach Bräu in Erlangen, in which it was heavily consumed. I had decided for Mr. Pils what is well drinkable. On the eve of Steinbach Bräu in Erlangen there was a very successful Pale Ale, against which a Pils is inevitably boring. The standard card shows nine main foods, but is supplemented by a page “Day Recommendations” that offers further home cooking. Caprese is the only exot. Otherwise, it is expected to be fruitful with scavenger, roach, pork roast, sour kidney, bead etc. In addition to the famous clot that connects Franken with Thuringia, Pommes, Röstis, croquettes or roast potatoes are also served as a supplement. From the “day recommendations” I chose the Pfifferling cream soup for 3,80 € and then the pork crust roast in dark beer sauce with sauerkraut and closs for 8,70 €. An adult soup plate with a lot of fungus was brought. Not very hot and well thickened. Tastefully solid and good. A little whipped like a shot of white wine, but the soup would have done well. There was nothing to expose at the pork roast. A chasing rind that had won bubbles under the Salamander made the name of the court all honor. These include tasty muscle meat and a spicy, typically thin-liquid dark beer sauce, which, however, could be completely enjoyed thanks to the easy-to-suction clos. The sauerkraut was extra rich and was prepared mildly and cloly. Some juniper berries witnessed typical spicing. All in all, a pork bread dish as I had hoped for and for which I would like to give good four stars. With the slightly weaker soup, there are then close four stars for the kitchen of the Keesmann. Ambiente: Keesmann is located in the Wunderburg district opposite a church. Who the way from downtown is walking too long can also take the amazingly frequent driving city bus that keeps close. Unfortunately, I couldn't get an impression of the interiors, because the front guest room was locked and I shouldn't enter the back social space because it was just abandoned by a funeral company. On a Bamberg side, however, you can see that the Gaststube meets what promises the historical facade from outside [here link] . In addition and behind it is the actual brewery with its production and storage rooms. It's supposed to find 150 people out there, what I don't think. The solid tables and chairs are opaque on a granite plaster. In addition to the building, small platans and parasols provide the shade. The toilets are conveniently located at the passage to the street side. The number of facilities for relief is sufficient and has come from recent times. Cleanliness: It went clean."

"Wonderful view of the spires of Bamberg.. the food is reasonably priced and excellent. We were served by a lovely lady waitress who went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The atmosphere on a Friday night was bustling and friendly. The Spezial rauchbier served here is better kept than that served in the brewery itself!! All in all an enjoyable visit and worth the walk uphill!!"
