"We have been an on and off customer at Una's for many years. It is a local favourite and one which I would always give at least 3 to 4 stars, basic honest food. Things have changed over the years. Prices have increased and now...a Schnitzel is getting near $30 which is on the high side for a pub staple. What we really didn't like was their bad service, we ordered their Gypsy Schnitzel which comes with sauce, we asked for the sauce on the side and were then told if they didn't pour it onto the food there was an extra charge. Really ridiculous, we are not asking for extra sauce or anything other than not to pour it over the food. Pathetic, this was once a worthy basic restaurant but now far from it."

"This little neighborhood restaurant is small but mighty! Family owned and operated, the staff clearly knows that they live or die by their quality and service - there is no corporate entity ready to bail them out in hard times. We were greeted promptly and with sincere smiles, then offered any table that was open. We wanted dishes we had never tried, so our server explained the constitution and preparation of several different dishes. We ordered three dishes between the two of us dining. There is wine, but no wine list. Our server told us what wines they had and we ordered accordingly. Service was swift. The cabbage rolls are huge and flavorful, served with peas, potatoes, and steamed cabbage - very hearty. The seasoned skewers of pork were a little on the tough side, but their flavor made up the difference. The sausages of beef and pork were tender, juicy, and just perfectly seasoned. Our dishes came with the traditional salad, which resembles a mixture of potato salad and cole slaw. It is a large portion of salad, and really quite good! Prices were reasonable. From Hyde Park, slip down Oxford Street a couple of blocks and turn right on Crown. The Balkans is just ahead on the right."

"Wonderful tasty home style food, friendly customer service with a welcoming attitude every time. My go-to place when I feel like a warm sake and delicious Japanese tapas. I always get the gyoza, rice balls, sashimi combo, nom salad, egg roll."

"I'll be back (not). We were seated in the back half of the restaurant the room itself is interesting with many features of the old church being retained. The problem with the kitchen being in the same room was the noise. At one stage one of the staff were pouding away with some heavy implement on the bench (tenderising the veal this seemed to go on endlessely and we couldn't continue a conversation above that and all the other kitchen noises. The food itself was awful, I received a plate of white half uncooked deep fried chips with the chicken Schnitzel. The cabbage was okay but I wouldn't exactly look forward to going out to dinner for cabbage. The whole plate was gluggy and...read more"

"We enjoyed our dinner here, wondering if their clientele is made up of Americans pining for a taste of home, Australians who'd never tried American food, or some of each. The menu covered some American classics (burgers, ribs, shakes) as well as some that are less popular but certainly intriguing (chicken and waffles) but there's definitely something for everyone. You can order everything a la carte, so that you can choose which meats, how much, and how many sides you want. Our table was right in front of the table where the plates were put together, and there was a mirror above so that we could see what the chef (owner?) was putting out. Every meat portion was weighed, so you got exactly what you paid for. Well presented, tasty, and certainly true to American fare, we enjoyed it - and enjoyed looking around at the decor to see what locals thought depicted American diners."
