"We stayed a weekend at Hotel Royal Inn Regent in Gera, where Restaurant Wirtshaus is located. The visit was worth it. The restaurant sprays the charm of the past, even the cracks in the green artificial leather covers of the bank are authentic. It was like before, beautiful! The service and the sink is made by a nice gentleman alone, but better it could not do two others. The dishes are freshly cooked, we couldn't eat canned food. The rusty meat was excellent, and the few little chicken bones in the very tasty spice meat as an appetizer were a sign of a homemade food and therefore rather than a plus to notice. We have already booked at the Royal Inn and we eat in the host house, not just because it is more convenient."

"Leckere Schnitzel, ein frisch gezapftes Kellerbier, und ein wundervolles Ambiente. In der alten Wassermühle / Pumpenwerk, das aufwändig saniert wurde, hat man ein fantastisches Ambiente innen sowie aussen geschaffen. Man kann hier auf der Terrasse, im Grünen oder im Haus stilvoll sitzen und essen. Ein kleines Highlight sind die im Boden eingelassenen Glasböden, die einen Blick auf den (leider) stillgelegten Mühlgraben erlauben. Im Obergeschoß ist ein riesiger Veranstaltungsraum, der vor allem für größere Events und Feiern genutzt werden kann. Es gibt eine sehr grosse Auswahl an Schnitzelgerichten, die Beilage wählt man selbst, aber auch leckere Salate und alternative Speisen sind im Angebot. Für besonders hungrige Mäuler steht ein XXL-Schnitzel in der Karte. Natürlich gibt es auch eine Kinderkarte. Für die Kleinen ist im Aussenbereich ein abgezäunter Spielplatz vorhanden, parken kann man direkt am Objekt. Die Schnitzelschmiede gehört zu einem von 4 Häusern, die der Wirt in ganz Mitteldeutschland betreibt. Alles ist frisch gekocht, und die Schnitzel werden frisch zubereitet. Preislich liegt die Schnitzelschmiede im mittleren Segment, im Schnitt zahlt man für ein Schnitzelgericht mit Beilage 12 Euro, was ein sehr guter Preis für die Qualität ist. Das Angebot kann man auf der Webseite anschauen, damit die Entscheidungsfindung nicht so lange dauert :-)"
