"When I went with my grandmother and grandfather, we went over the forest that surrounds Lohmar like a ring and returned to the French house at noon. The then hostess, strong and also a bit energetic, came to the beer garden and asked for our wishes. We sat outside in the cool shadow of the high old trees, because only in summer we were looking for this place. My grandmother needed me to eat a delicious carving with hosting and potatoes or red cabbage with goulash that was already fragrant from the kitchen and got into the garden. No I wanted an apple juice from my own production, homemade potato salad and sausage. I did, and I was happy. We have celebrated this for many years and I like to remember it and with humility. This traditional house still exists. A while as a hotel restaurant, it has lost no charm and cosiness. On the contrary, here in the immediate vicinity of the forest, you can also spend holidays, hiking and recreation.
