"Many of the dining establishments in Ajijic cater to expats' various international tastes, but we have been seeking good Mexican fare during our short visit. We found it at Tony's, where the Fajitas were top-notch and the tasty beef confirmed Tony's claim of superior meat supply. The coconut shrimp were crispy and full of flavor, and the portions very generous. Attentive wait staff made this a very pleasant dinner. We intend to return soon."

"So when I drove by it a few times, and saw the picture of the hat outside, being a gringo, I thought they sold hats there. Don't ask me why. And I didn't ask anyone. Until someone mentioned to em that it was a wonderful restaurant. So in my/our quest to sample every restaurant we could Lakeside, I went.The steak was so soft, tender, and tasty. Okay, I asked for it medium well and it still came out a little red, not just pink. That's a MX thing. And you can always cook it more. Their potatoes were their own and okay, nothing too special.Friend that had the chicken said it was dry but another who had a burger said it was excellent.Limited menu, but the steak is what gave it the 5 stars.We will return."

"We own an apartment that is about ten minutes walk from Pollos Asados al Carbon El Amigo Don David (we didn't know the name so far) and are weekly customers. The chicken is wonderful. It is tasteful and juicy. The employees are very excited about the customers. They get a chicken from the grill and the lady there are a few sharp wobbles with her machete like a cracker. 8 or 10 pieces per chicken. You get your pages. We lie the Cole Slav, the Makkaroni salad, the potatoes, the salsa and the pico de gallo. We exchange the tortilla stack and the free refresco (soda) for an additional salad. There are different packages, depending on how many chickens you want to buy and you can only get chicken without sides. WARNING: They sometimes sell the early bird at 5 p.m...."
