"My husband Tom I have to thank the many reviewers on Trip Advisor who gave such outstanding and detailed summaries of their experience at C'est la vie. Our evening there was simply wonderful. The restaurant is small (seats about 65) has an open kitchen,...has been recently and very tastefully renovated in a simple yet elegant style. It's been open for 3 1/2 years. We were greeted by Dior who speaks English with a lovely South African lilt, as well as French and German. She was a delightful guide to the menu and offered excellent suggestions. Inga is both an owner and the sommelier for this lovely restaurant. We chose the 3 course tasting menu with wine parings (there is also the option of a 5 and 7 course tasting menu as well) and Inga explained the origin, varietals and attributes of each French wine we had. I was also very glad to be able to request a red wine paring for each of my 3 courses as I'm not so keen on whites. Each course was exquisite in both flavor and design. The dishes were delectable works of art. My husband opted for the Amelie tasting menu and I chose the Gerard, so we had six different dishes to sample. Tom's loved the fois gras (plated as little mushrooms) and his sea bass. He had the rhubarb tart for dessert. My terrine was a tasty starter and the lobster was the best I have ever eaten. The macaroons I was served with woodruff cubes was so delicious. I've never encountered the herb woodruff up to this point in my dining adventures. We would happy return"
