"I ate there after a wonderful walk through the picturesque Gorges de l 'Areuse. The restaurant is conveniently located and a mere 10 minute stroll from the railway station. My dinner was rather average I was neither pleasantly surprised nor utterly disappointed. The hotel is classified...as Typically Swiss Hotel , the dining room was actually really cozy. However service could be improved. The waiter was smiling and efficient; unfortunately the waitress (his wife? was polite but a bit cold and not overly friendly. Furthermore during the entire meal, I could hear the waiter continuously giving instructions to the lady (Have you served table n° xx? Did you bring the note to table n° yy? Prepare quickly two cups of coffee? etc . As a guest, one feels a little uncomfortable with this behaviour! Food quality is good but an effort should be made on the presentation: It is the first time that I see a menu printed on a plastic card!!! It gives a rather cheap impression, I would definitely appreciate a properly printed menu. As starter I opted for the Tartare de Buffle (buffalo tartar , which was quite good except for the bland and uncrispy French fries. The main course was Rösti Sainte Barbe (i.e. with the region 's local specialty: ham cooked in asphalt . The ham was juicy and quite tasty. The rösti looked promising but was rather tasteless. The Miellée des Fées I chose as dessert was much better: delicious cinnamon ice cream topped with absinthe liqueur. Definitely worth trying! All in all, I am ready to come back to this restaurant but some points definitely need to be improved. For Swiss standards, prices remain very decent. My three course meal including soda water and 1dl white wine Pinot Gris cost CHF65."
