"The local pharmasist where we bought tooth paste faced with the question who serves 'copieux' portions, and that is what we were after: quality with quantity, not pizzicato sampling or gastro attitude - the 'vieux chateau' caters for that. The chied red cheeked waiter was most obliging but neither the Sancerre nor another one that we had were of character or distinction. The portions were small and the food was bland and well presented. The very small olives were good and here comes the question: we wanted fine unassuming food with generous serving- the automated brasserie and the derivatives do not cater for that it seems. At least in our catchments. It seems that the winter indoors setting is more appealing but if the food is the same?!"
