"We visited Connor’s for dinner this weekend and had an excellent experience. Warm welcome on arrival and waiting staff very attentive and friendly. Bottle of wine was nice and our course meal was delicious. We waited around minutes for our starters but were...aware we had arrived at the same time as other tables and were enjoying ourselves at the table. Staff could have let us know apologised for the wait but that was only negative of the evening. Starters of Asian duck salad and toasted ciabatta with tomato and Brie were great. Main courses of salmon and prawn Thai red curry and scallops and black pudding were both exceptional. Great experience and will return when in Portpatrick!"

"Hands down this is the best Chinese in Dumfries. The food is always excellent and served piping hot whether ordering in the restaurant or getting a takeaway, staff are welcoming and friendly. 10/10 would recommend."

"Visited Friday night (open everyday for breakfast and lunch but only Friday and Saturday evening) and had the best meal of our holiday. Quirky decor and absolutely EVERYTHING made from scratch. Beautiful scallops with roe, fresh handcut chips and a salad with loads of fresh fruit which really complimented the dish. Prices are almost too cheap but the owners catch their own fish and seafood and this is obviously why the prices are so low. We were made super welcome and the doggies were allowed inside too which was a huge bonus. Please visit this gem, its outstanding and can't wait to return next year. Its unlicensed so we took our own prosecco and wasn't even charged corkage. Thanks so much Marriners"

"Was going on a trip leaving from train station and decided to play safe and pay for parking. When entering hotel woman on desk was quite abrupt. I paid for the parking as a non resident and my friend had asked when she had been in if it was ok to have tea and coffee before leaving. This had been fine until she went to get it and the lady that had been on reception had made a comment that if using facilities our children had needed toilet before we got chance to order drink, that we should be getting something. We had paid for parking and could have just left it at that. Not often I need to park at the train station but will think twuce before giving them the business again."

"We travel up to this area quite regularly and we were looking forward to a nice takeaway following our journey. After a previous positive experience, sadly this was a massive let down. Oily salt and pepper chicken wings and spring rolls with little filling were the starters. A poor Chicken Kung Po main dish and an even worse Beef Pepper and Black Bean dish, where the meat was as tough as leather! An extremely generous 2 stars giving credit for a very pleasant front of house, however your food is now terrible. We will not return."
