"You can’t perfect scrambled eggs...never get the right consistency all the time. Well that’s what I thought until I visited RYE Cafe, dome to perfection every single time. Even better with a little hot sauce drizzled on the top. If you haven’t visited this little hidden gem in sleepy Ashtead then I would advise giving it a thought when you next pass by."

"Have been a regular for take always at the Ali Raj for the last five years and the food has always been the very highest quality. This week we ordered two different chicken dishes and a prawn one. The prawn one was deemed to be good. But both chicken dishes were not good. Tough, flavourless (cheap? chicken. Both dishes left unfinished. Roll forward a day and the view is that for the money we paid we get better value and better quality from a Charlie Bighams from Waitrose for a Chicken Tikka Masala. Don’t mind paying for a good take away curry but not impressed with how the quality has declined here . Would have given two stars but for the great food in the previous five years. Perhaps the chef was having a bad night. But I’m not prepared to pay for that. You have been warned...."
